I think itā€™s fair to say that most community members like andy, he seems like anice guy.
And of course we know he is propably just following orders.

ā€œA servant of the failing companyā€ if you will.
But at the end of the day, FunCent as an entity is failing.
As @DanQuixote and many others said; lack of resources results in lackluster content of poor quality.
Reports of the caused bugs/exploits being ignored, not even adressedā€¦ or even muted and banned, in order to swipe it under the carpet.
Or weā€™ve being told to use the report template that even was broken tooā€¦

Or remember the survey everyone? How was that feedback taken into account?
When the slower release schedule was announced, and AoH afterwards we had a good engagement with the community managers for once.

Lots of us where cautiously optimistic it could be the turning point.

Only for the next disastrous ā€œupdateā€ to shatter that illusion.

Iā€˜m sorry for AndyB and all the heat he has to take, but FC as a whole deserves no mercy for their constant fvckups and breakdowns.

I didnā€™t exactly want dune to fail, i simply didnā€™t care about Dune awakening.
But holy crap do i despise them at the moment, and if FC doesnā€™t turn things around quickly i will not only never buy one of their products again.
I also hope the players remember their shĀ”tty behavior and Dune goes down in flames with the company alltogether FFS.

And i already said it a bunch of times, a lot of the toxicity within the community is caused by FunCent themselves.

Many people tried it politeley, from simple player to big content creator (likeWak4863 i mentioned earlyer). But we got ignored anyways.

Long story short, i can relate to @Barnes . I like Andy B too. But i honestly donā€™t see a huge difference if your polite or not.
Doesnā€™t matter to the corporate overlords as long as we purchase lousy nonsense from the bazaar.

And to return to the OP, the really intresting question is; how long is it gona take to fix THIS particular issue? Before christmas or mid to end january? ā€¦ like the ā€œhotfixā€ last january

Except that this has been the way for years now. They are perfectly capable of communciating elsewhere (eg Dune), and when they feel like it (very rarely) here as well. I have worked in the same field, I have some understanding of the job they are meant to be doing - and if I was being told from above not to do my job, then by the time a couple of years had passed I would have found myself a new job somewhere else.

If the ā€˜community teamā€™ has been ordered not to communicate with the playerbase, then they serve no purpose at all - companies do not keep people on the payroll to then prevent them from doing anything. And if they were truly ordered not to communicate then they would not make the same promise every six months to communicate better.

Iā€™m sorry, but I have no sympathy for them at all. Iā€™d post one of my favourite songs of the past few years here (@DeaconElie knows the one :wink: ), but despite this being a forum for the adult players of an adult game, the base software would not allow it to be posted. So Iā€™ll simply say that Iā€™m past the point of caring, and leave it at that.

Jens Erik was the flak guy. He told us all ā€œsmell ya later,ā€ leaving Andy to fill a pretty serious and dangerous void. Sometimes we get a chance to do work beyond our scope.

However, as I told my brothers the other day, humans donā€™t typically rise to the challenge, rather we sink to the level of our training or instinct. Therefore, I go to the mat for Andy, and Nicole, obviously. Itā€™s a tough position they find themselves in, and they deserve our loyalty until the situation is corrected.

That is a thing earned.
While this one doubts they have much say in what and when they can sayā€¦
This one does not know what they have done that should inspire loyalty?
What loyalty have they shown to this one?
Is there some secret combination this one is unaware of that should impact this merit?

Empathy, decencyā€¦
These things this one would agree they deserve.
As all persons deserve this.
But Loyaltyā€¦ This oneā€™s loyalty is far too valuable to offer up without evidence of the value it will be received with and itā€™s reciprocity.
Loyalty given freely is worth every copper laminated coin it costā€¦ and none more.

Precisely. This was implied in my statement, but just to clarify and circumvent any possible misunderstandings, both issues are very important and both required prompt action and communication. No mode in Conan Exiles is subordinate or superordinate to another. And I did not wish to see Singleplayer or our issue ā€˜come firstā€™. I only wished to see us receive the same level of courtesy and respect and be acknowledged within ~24 hours like the PvP to PvE issue, as opposed to a feeble acknowledgement >30 days later. Funcom you ought to be ashamed of the way you have handled this issue.

  • Hey Funcom, just bear in mind that not one of the affected people in this thread will be spending ANY money in the Black Lotus Bazaar while this is going on. People can not spend money there if they can not load the game to access the Bazaar page. :crazy_face:

Iā€™m afraid I have to agree here. The ā€œWe are aware of this issueā€ statement shouldā€™ve been posted a month ago. Much as I respect Andy, his job is communication, and in this case, that failed miserably. No matter what sort of SNAFU happened at the office, Iā€™m sure his higher-ups wouldā€™ve okayā€™ed that much communication back in November.

But a total radio silence, despite repeated promises to improve communication, feels uncaring and disrespectful.

When I reached this game in April of 2017, I was jaded and a little tired of the treadmill: grind, exist, patch. As you know I came from Rockstar, where I was a tester and guide maker.

The ways that Funcom did things, by contrast, earned my respect and faith. The ways that the humans on the team interacted with the playerbase earned my loyalty.

In other words, I know their potential. And thatā€™s a hard thing to quash.

Just to clarify, I can achieve two different positions on this topic. In my opinion, this very thing exposes an unhealthy and/or toxic environment. All things being equal, and people being people, something has clamped down on their voices. I notice, and I stop playing, because it seems kind of gross to be gaily building away and gathering goodies while so many people are unhappy.

Iā€™ll second the lame and back to the top of the page for this thread. Just like last Christmas some exiles will not have a merry holiday. So, no fixes till they come back from a month off. Customer no service appears to be their quality statement.

Are any of you in the middle of a Liu Fei quest?

Iā€™m not currently but will be shortly. Literally just finished Freyaā€™s for the first time. Was there something I should be watching for during Lui Feiā€™s?

I found a post from way back that suggested that Liu Fei visiting base in their singleplayer game was making them crash, this was pre hotfix. So wondering if that might be related to why no one who has spoken up based on this post can log in.

Iā€™ve run Liu Fei so many times on an Official with no issues.

I only use single player for testing things. Could test Lui Fei if thereā€™s no definitive answers forthcoming.

This is the first time Iā€™ve gone three weeks without playing since launch. I lost everything. It wasnā€™t a raid. It wasnā€™t me forgetting to log in. It was a bug in the game and I couldnā€™t get in for over a weekā€¦

I simply donā€™t have the desire to start again.
Especially given how little concern or interest lthe devs and admins have regarding the gameā€™s faults. I made some great friends here, but how my game went down is crushing.
