I decided to play Conan after a long break and every time I click on play, or use the .exe file, and start the game (with or without battleye) it gets to the Unreal splash screen and crashed to the desktop and the crash report screen.
I’ve done the following:
Updated my graphics driver to the latest
Turned off the NVIDIA game recorder
Turned off Windows 10 game recorder/DVR service
Uninstalled Battleye/Reinstalled Battleye
Uninstalled Conan/Reinstalled Conan
Rebooted my computer
None of the above fixed the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I returned a couple of days ago after having been on a break since August and had basically the same issue and did most of the things you mention in addition to having to remove a slew of mods. After a few hours of searching and frustration, I remembered that I had to uninstall GeForce Experience for some odd reason in the past.
-Update your Windows is suppose to fix the Microsoft visuals c++ problem but you may have to go right click them in “Apps & Features” click modify not uninstall and it will bring you to another screen where you can repair them
-Put -fullscreen in your launch options
-Rollback Grapthic Cards to a Month ago (I do not advise this one since its a pain)
Nvidia Users, right click on desktop>Nvidia controlpanal>3d settings>scrolldown to Vsync>turn on
I have heard of Geforce causing it, I have also heard it is Windows not updating Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 an 2013. Last thing I read was a issue with sound drivers competing (I had something like this go wrong last year and had to play it with no sound.) I went from a 1050 ti with no sound on medium settings to a 580 on ultra that only occasionally crashes
This is an older topic and I don’t know if its resolved
But if someone reports a CTD at start up
the first question anyone should ask is “are you using mods?”
Until the game is released and stabilized older or unsupported mods can and will cause a CTD because mods are loaded before the game.
