Game not loading, can't escape opening scene or change window size

Bug Description:

Starting on PC from Conan shortcut. The opening scenes for manufacturer, producer, then the initial movie scene - can’t hit Esc to skip; can’t remove from full screen; game won’t load.
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor 3.60 GHz
Was working fine last time I played, which was, sadly, a few months ago.

1. Double click shortcut on desktop
2. Wait…
3. Hit Esc, Enter, and then random keys on keyboard…
4. Ctrl-Alt-Del shut 'er down
5. Repeat

Hello evasarausa,

I sometimes have an issue like that with steam games that just wont start right after they received an update.

What I do then is:

1. I right click on the game in the steam library sidebar
2. Select properties
3. Click on local files
4. Choose “verify integrity of game files…”

That normally repairs some damaged or corrupted game files that didn’t download correctly. I recently had to do that twice with conan exiles. I really hope its just that little issue with your game too.

I don’t use any mods, but maybe they cause the issue and there is a way to disable them before starting the game?
