I sometimes have an issue like that with steam games that just wont start right after they received an update.
What I do then is:
- I right click on the game in the steam library sidebar
- Select properties
- Click on local files
- Choose “verify integrity of game files…”
That normally repairs some damaged or corrupted game files that didn’t download correctly. I recently had to do that twice with conan exiles. I really hope its just that little issue with your game too.
I don’t use any mods, but maybe they cause the issue and there is a way to disable them before starting the game?
