Gathering stations suggestion

Please make some gathering stations and gatherer thralls.

A lumber mill - collects wood and plant fiber

A quarry - collects stone and metals

A garden - grows plants

Gatherer thralls - make specific gathering thralls that collect more and rarer materials with higher levels.

Just make my thralls (slaves!) Do thrall (slave!) Stuff instead of just standing around in my base waiting for me to do all the labor!

I’m a slave owner! Why am I doing all the slave work???

These are all good ideas.

Cosmetically, I would like to see a “farm” tile and some decent land filler arboreal decorations like placeable trees and bushes for those areas around your base that are just open space. And I know I can drop decorative planters there, but sometimes I want the area to look a little less tended.

On a side note, I actually have freed all my slaves and turned them into merchants. I use follower thralls and promote them to commodities merchants. For instance, one is Verah Layne. She runs my tannery. Each time her crafting station thralls makes 500 tar, or 100 hard leather, or stitches 500 thick hide, etc, I drop a gold coin in her collection chest. I have one of these for the smeltery as well as for carpentry. It just seems a little more like a working community.

To be fair, a lumber mill processes wood, it doesn’t gather it. Like logs go in and out comes boards, beams, and bark.

A nursery would be better. That grew saplings and had a Gardener to tend it. At least that is what they are called around here. You go to them to buy saplings they’ve raised, for planting.

Definitely a nice one and a Stonemason to work it.

I think this would be nice as a 3x3 spot and a Gardener thrall.
3 planting beds up the edge and a walkway in the center.
You put in Seeds to be grown just like with planting pots and they return back seeds and harvest items automatically over time.
Throw in Compost or whatever you get and use in the normal planting pots to act as fuel.
Make it use like 6/compost per so much time, and passively do the seeds for you.

I agree, it would be nice to add some more agricultural traits to our bases. I know the Exiled Lands/Siptah are violent places, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add some refinement to it.

Some nice 1x2, 2x2, 1x3, 2x3, etc. To fit into different size spots.

Conan is about savagery, sure. But stuff like this would go a long way to making more players happy with expanded options.

A lumber mill would just be a great place to store the wood that a gatherer thralls would collect

Haha xD

I think a sawmill would be a nice station to process wood into different forms.

So far we just have wood, shaped wood, insulated wood. But I wouldn’t mind seeing it expand. I think Shaped Wood is basically the generic catch-all for it though.

Like Slats/Planks/Boards for use in doors or window framing.
Beams for ceiling pieces and the like. Maybe the Fence pieces that you can’t climb over.

But I’m a big fan of stuff like that, and while I think it’d add a better layer to the game, it’d also mean bases would take up more space, we’d need more thralls, so it’s likely not feasible.

But having Stone cut into blocks or crushed into powder for varied uses just appeals to me so much. I love all the industry things like that.

Yes! I got it! snaps fingers Age of Zen. New season. Hedge mazes, and weeping willows, and statuary, and new candles, and mats/rugs, and more fountains, and a new building set, and, and, and … etc. (NOTE: I’m only kidding. Sort of. Some trees and bushes would be nice, though.)

Don’t kid. Sounds like an absolute dream. Expand on it.

Sand Garden - thrall raking sand, decreases corruption
Water/Rock Garden - a waterfall type feature splashing on rocks.
Waterfall Wall - an item that works like the elevator. You place it on top of a wall/foundation and water pours over the edge, auto-creating a catch basin beneath it. To have water on the sides of your structures.

A hedge “fence” that can sit on top of normal fence foundations.

A rock garden of sand and stone in a design, maybe to cleanse corruption.

Emotes of sitting cross-legged in a meditative position.

Building pieces related to monks and temples. Accompanying robes to wear.

Yeah that’s a good idea.

I’m usually against passive gathering for a number of reasons.

For multiplayer, I prefer that players actually get outside of their bases and gather the materials. This increases player interactions. For all server types this can encourage players to engage in trade and making friendships and alliances. This way you can tackle harder threats like 3-star bosses that some players have issues with, especially after 3.0. Running into each other getting stone and wood can translate to getting legendaries, and other rare resources later. In a PVP sense, this can lead to players fighting over resources, furthering the conflict on those servers. They can also engage in trade and such as well.

For singleplayer… well passive generation is usually not as lucrative. When you exit the game, the timers all pause. In this case you may simply wish to increase harvest rates so when you actively harvest you spend less time doing that.
