GET OFF MY LAWN! haha

Hey fellow Barbarians,

So im on a offical PVE server (not conflict) and i have random players just logging off on my property. Idk if its trolls or just first time players abandoning the game, but i now have 5 unconscious players on my property now. Can i grab some fiber bindings and move them? Ive thought of building jail cells around them to troll them back but some of them fell asleep in the worst places. Its kind of annoying. Anything i can do?

So I’m not the only person running a boarding house. I’ve got one sleeping right outside my front door on my PVE server. Group consensus had been to wall him in, but I don’t have the heart to do it.

I had the same problem in single player. A friend joined, then left and stayed right next to my house.

I asked here and on the Steam hub. None of the solutions worked. He even rejoined and I banned him while he was in the game, which kicked him out of the game and banned him, but his body is still there. You’re pretty much screwed.

So I think this sometimes happens when people join a server, intent to build in a certain spot, and then simply disconnect and go elsewhere upon finding their favorite spot taken.

While the body will eventually die off after several days, you can help the process along by kiting unfriendly NPCs or monsters over to kill the body off. My personal preference is to use a giant croc since their tail-slap has suitable area damage and there’s a free key in it for me after I dispatch it.

Now that’s cold, but economical. I’m not near any boss creature though. What I could do is put up a few doorframes with the jail cell looking door next to a wheel of pain. Until he phases out, I’ll be the only player with a functioning slave camp.

Cold? Maybe. I like to think that I’m saving them from accumulating bad karma against me.

If there’s no bosses handy, anything with an area attack (or damage arc) could work. Just think back to all the thralls that have been killed while you dragged them on a binding rope: tigers, hammer & axe wielders, etc. Of course, you might need to stash your gear in a chest and be willing to die several times while standing naked on the other player’s comatose form for enough attacks to hit, but it should be doable.

Those shellback turtles can do it too. Doesn’t have to be a boss or anything. A clan mate went around and used the monster to kill 3 unconscious exiles around the base. One was right on a place I was trying to build

I’ve also got one unconscious up on my thatched roof. Didn’t even notice her until a clan mate found her. Left her up there. She’s out of the way.

I had a higher up (some fancy armoured guy) log out in my deck/lounge area. It’s on the third floor so I didn’t bother leading a monster up there. The player gave me a few supplies earlier in the day. I didn’t know why but I guess it was payment for the safe place to sleep

Would gas orbs work against these unconscious people?

@Starwalker: Only in pve-c during pvp time windows, not in pve.

Well, I play pve-c (so if I would I can kill those people during pvp time) but… it happens everyday.

The thing I don’t understand is just… why ? Half of my base is open for visitors, I built also a Motel… nothing, they log out just in front of my door.

It’s not a problem, I love the feeling of power having human door mat

But… seriously, why they do it ? :upside_down_face:

So, on PVE you can kill NPCs, yourself, your pets and thralls, and even clanmates (accidentally, of course :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:) with gas orbs or arrows, but other players not in your clan can stand in a gas cloud unharmed?
That’s highly illogical, although I can see the reason why it is this way…

You can kill your mates (by accident ofc  ) because the orb is owned by the clan, so technically they killed themself.

I’m not sure if something that could happen in pve-c is also working in pve: if your pet/thrall is fighting an npc or a monster and a player go into the “line of fire” he took damage by your thrall/pet (because they CAN damage other players, but they CANNOT attack them).

If it works also in pve maybe could be a way to free your door mat

I think my uninvited guest was reading our posts… when I logged in last night, “poof” he was gone. So I didn’t end getting to try out any of the wonderful suggestions on this thread. I do appreciate them.

Haha, that would be truly hilarious if that’s indeed what happened! Well, glad they’re not sleeping in your foyer anymore.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I was able to get rid of the squatters on my property last night. I lured a Shaleback to my property and stood over the body with a shield while the Shaleback swatted at me. I only moved when he did a ground pound. Ahh it was B E A utiful. I thoroughly enjoyed this small victory. One of them dropped a huge loot bag. I couldn’t loot the bag but a knowing I made him lose all his stuff brought a smile to my face. Let this be a lesson to all other squatters. Get off my lawn or i will make you get you off. lol

Honestly If you log off on someone’s land tuck yourself into a corner out of the way. Dont log off on my campfire.

Is this a new type of griefing being used now?
Jeesh.

Found someone asleep in my base this afternoon. I think we can all agree that they’ve learned their lesson!

Lesson being that you should only fall asleep in the bases of your trusted friends, who will show you the utmost hospitality!
