Yesterday [10th may 2022] I logged in to refresh decay timers on my builds on official european PVE #3033 server and quess what? SUPRISE! I spawned in dead in water because my entire main base on Noob River despawned. Decay timers are set to 168h or so and I logged in on 174th hour… Lucky me. Since my 2 other outposts are still standing I quess it was work of a bored troll player.
For months I was just logging in to refresh decay timers on my builds without me playing and enjoying the game. Last time I was into beeing on server was Grave Matter event. I did over 102+ runs for it because I couldn’t do it on my solo world as event wasn’t spawning in and we didn’t get a fix. So all that loot from grinding for days [or weeks, months] just perrished because I was late 5-6h to refresh timers I’m thinking of GETTING MY INVENTORY FULL OF WHATEVER I CAN SALVAGE, GET SOMEWHERE WHERE BUILDING IS NOT ALLOWED, LOG OFF AND TAKE A BREAK FROM MULTIPLAYER AS LONG AS I NEED!
Now is it still possible to do so? I’m not talking about server transfer, I’m talking about logging off a server for a longer period of time and then logging back after few months or maybe even over a year to play on the same server with inventory and stats intact.
Is it still possible? How long I can remain offline in “the void” so I won’t loose my inventory and stats? Any idea?
What you are describing is body vaulting don’t have the answers you want however.

Yeah, that’s it, “body vault”. I’ve seen once a video on YouTube about it. Jesus… I just hope I won’t loose anything. I was dying serval times while loggin on into my base on official server couple of times. I didn’t get to the bottom of what was the cause of my deaths.
if you body vaukt, better to do it in a sandstone box, not out in the open. wear a gas mask as well. If pvp, you will need to hide the box as best you can. non raid then just away from traffic. 7 days and your body will be safe. But there may be a time where they change bv. Alot of pvpers exploit it to use alt accounts and store thier loot so no one will ever get it and can use to rebuild as needed.
I was thinking about logging off maybe in Conan bar in Sepermeru since I’m on PVE server. It’s a no build area but it’s far from Noob River and The Desert. Well, if I die somehow while offline I won’t even know till I log in year later so I quess I don’t have to worry about recovering loot from my dead body.
Sandstone box you say? It have to be quite a sandstone box to have 168h decay timer on it. I’ve heard that there’s a slight chance that I will spawn inside some1 else base if I log off outside No build zones. I don’t want to risk it since servers got bigger populations now after that closure of most official servers.

You will be safe but who knows how long. If you die from thirst, starvation, sand storm then u lose it all. I recommend just upload your character to server transfer. I did this for about 2 months until I logged into another server, thats a fact. Everything was still in my backpack. However on another character I had uploaded for about a month when I logged into a server I still had everything except my horse and thrall disappeared. The only downside is u cant take everything.

i think theynare wanting to go full inventory, so transfer body storage wont keep everything they want.

I will log off with gas mask on so sandstrom shouldn’t be an issue. But starvation and thirst? I spawned in dead couple of times after logging into server after 7 days. I allways eat and drink before logging off. Damn. If I go into Server Transfer I can carry much less than going into void on same server as I can take entire capacity of inventory with me.
Definetly before going off I’ll try to catch a bearer, performer and whatever useful thralls I can find. Also I want to take horse with me so I need to do a run to find a cub. Let’s hope it won’t despawn because of 24h decay timer on animal cubs… Recently my food was spoiling insid3 my inventory so when I was logging back into server after a week I had tons of rotten meat on me omg.
My loot in my outposts is extremely weak as I was moving everything into my main base daily. So crying out what choos3 to take with me won’t be an issue as worst is behind me - despawning of my entire main base with my warehouse with ton of hard earned loot… Cursed servers
