I have been playing this game since 4 weeks after early access. Same computer.
all of a sudden, since Fridays patch, I get a weird error. my screen locks up upon avatar death, there is nothing shown, (like avatar body on ground) and it hangs for about 10 seconds and then auto respawns me randomly. I do NOT get the selection box wherein you can select your bed, bedroll or desert to spawn in.
Also, I use the XBox controller to play on PC and now the items wheel causes a half second of lag when it pops up.
Something changed in one of the recent patchs, as this started for me on Friday.
I have had this exact same issue. I’m running integrated AMD radeon graphics on a laptop, so I always just assume stuff like this ends up being a hardware issue. I also started getting severe artifacting and ground texture issues at the same time, and after a graphics update I sometimes still see it on trees rendered at a distance. ran What are you running the game on Harle?
GeForce GTX 1070 8gb RAM, AMD Phenom 9850 quad at 2.9 Ghz, 8 Gbs RAM. on an SSD.
My point is that the new patch has introduced a strange lag. Sort of like a stuttering effect. As I run around at 50 FPS the game stutters as it loads in the map? or whatever.
Then upon death it totally hangs up for 8 to 10 seconds. I rarely see that spawn point selection box .
Also, the item wheel lag is REALLY annoying. every time I change weapon, drink, eat, etc. stutter/lag.
I’m having the same issues, even see NPC’s floating high in the air, game freezes for a couple of seconds every now and then, some controller buttons don’t work, and all this didn’t happen before the previous update. Heck, I can’t even skip the intro now.
Up until the last two patches everything was fine. Now i get constant hitching. When i bring up the item wheel it hitches. It was fine before. I have also had to lower my graphic options. Hope we find a cure.
I get the same thing. i’m also running ATI. And its only happened after the last patch about 2 weeks ago. Lags on death and most the time it doesn’t give popup to spawn on bed, just goes to desert after loading screen.
