Ooohh thanks a lot for in depth response. Really appreciate it. Definitely worth putting the time into then I’d say
Here is TaswoCat at 20, sorry I couldn’t get to this yesterday, RL happened.
78 damage 456 armor. This guy is a killing machine. load him up with blood sausage and he’s good to go.
Leveled legit on an Official PVP server.
Uhhhh nice kitteh?
Those numbers are savage. I’ll amend my earlier NPC taunt to “tell me your name, so I can carve it on your-” splat
I’ve got a Greater Tiger that I have leveled up to 17. It has pretty good stats and 5.7k health but it’s only good for killing normal mobs. You can’t have it tank a boss like a RHTS or a Cim Beserker. They won’t last the fight even with top notch food. Blood sausage is a pain to make too. So much human flesh to be butchered.
My greater sabertooth has killed / tanked 4 three skull bosses between level 18 and 20.
I prefer an Archer build so I expect whatever I take with me to tank.
I did however need to run away for him to heal on the boss at the shattered springs.
But I think my running out of arrows contributed to this.
Oh, and blood sausage isn’t a problem for my playstyle, I farm npc’s to get steel instead of making it
so I just chop as I go, and toss the flesh in a press when I go back to base to empty my inventory.
Maybe it depends on the boss. I took my tiger to the Unnamed City and had a rough time with the undead bosses. The problem was that they lost HP pretty fast and eventually you get the point where they are at risk even though the boss HP is close to their HP. I try and distract them by jumping in but you have to be careful in melee range. Some hit hard some not so much. It would be nice if there was some armor you could make for them. Or a paint or ward or something.
If you scroll up you’ll see a sabercat has almost double the armor of a tiger.
But you’re right it depends on the boss, some are trickier than others.
i’ve noticed not a marginal difference worth waiting for on both Greater and normal for this particular pet. Curious to see what others find in that regard with the split of the two.
One thing they are good for is pvp… they are quick to pounce and when fighting the more your opponent is on the ground the better for you. I’ve taken on 1v3 and the fact he could keep two busy while i focus on 1 is honestly better than a thrall in that instance could have. They are quick to kill don’t get me wrong, but they do buy you a lot more time than a thrall and people always underestimate their damage and pounce capabilities.
Yeah, I use my Tiger to farm form human meat in the desert camps. I don’t mind them having a special purpose. But it would be nice if they had some perks that gave bonus damage to certain opponent types or made them cc immune under certain circumstances, or game them burst healing in some cases. The perks are so boring. They should take a look at proc set abilities from MMO’s and try and implement those. Yeah, I know. Easier said than done.
Don’t get me wrong. I love this game. It’s my ultimate sandbox and it’s wonderful. Just trying to offer some constructive criticism.
