Heavy Armor is useless

Armor feels useless in the game. The DR feels fine considering the amount of people who run High Armor Pen weapons, but the issue is that Heavy armor is basically pointless now for anything other than PvE. In PvP, people just run Steel Thewed so you can’t one shot them in Light Armor. And in Heavy Armor, you get stagger locked by everything to the point that you may as well just give up. Heavy Armor should feel like Heavy Armor, not a paperweight that makes you squishier than someone in light armor when it comes to PvP. Make Tanking a thing again. Give us Poise for our attacks while in heavy armor. I’m tired of having to rely on a mace or 1handed axe to poise through attacks because I get staggered out of every other attack. Poise should be a side effect of wearing heavy armor. Not a side effect of swinging a weapon. Rework the armor PLEASE.

Anything they do to touch the armor to accommodate this request better be SOLELY in PVP.

If they go messing around with the armor to appease PVP people, and it even mildly inconveniences me in PVE, I’m uninstalling. My thralls run full heavy, and generally so do I. So I’ll take it personally.

Though I hope they can fix you up and get you what you want WITHOUT messing with what I currently experience.

What they should do to the Heavy armor for PvP, the way I envision it, would also further benefit PvE. In PvE, armor is just a DR Stat. It already doesn’t effect thralls the way it does us because they don’t roll or have stamina. Heavy Armor should have innate poise and stagger reduction on top of it’s damage reduction. When I take a hit in heavy armor, I shouldn’t feel the stagger unless it’s a weapon that it would make sense from. Like something with Shield Break. If anything, thralls would benefit most from that since common mobs wouldn’t be able to staggerlock it into oblivion because it refuses to do combos.

Just as a side note: They do roll/dodge. Doesn’t invalidate your point, though.

I play on UE5, I have never seen a thrall roll. Dodge, but never roll. Good to know.
