So, after much deliberation, i am finally uninstalling Game from PC and moving onto fresher pastures, and thus finally severing all contact with funcom connected games which started with Anarchy Online in 2006 and ends with SWL 2019 ( inc 5 years 2012 - 2017 ) with TSW ) . I take with me so good memories , and some not so good, but all things come to an end eventually and SWL is no longer a fun or enjoyable game for me anymore, so i wish everyone who had the fortune or misfortune to play with me over the years, a very happy Christmas and all the best in your gaming endeavours for the new Year, and to quote Bilbo Baggins ’ “I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.” Goodbye
Hopefully you will find another game to take its place, like I did. I’m really enjoying World of Warcraft Classic and the Christmas event in Star Trek Online seems to be great fun too, and you get to fight Krampus there too. Q’s recreation of it at least.
I’m not sure if I should feel insulted by that quote.
Anyway, I’m in the same boat. I haven’t bothered logging in since Samhain, but I’ve kept SWL installed just in case. Seeing the latest event all but abandoned for the sake of updating the grind has finally motivated me to move on for good. I’ll be giving away what little loot I have left and then uninstalling the game as well. Despite the complaining, I have actually had fun in SWL at times (not as much as TSW), and I’ll miss the community.
Farewell, wherever you fare.
Just adding a +1, making it a +2 on the thread I guess.
I loved TSW. The lore, the players, the fun beta (yay randomly assigned builds! lol), and the tiny ARGs they have had through the years. SWL did not bother me as much as it seems to have others but it was not for me and I gave it a fair amount of time and a few $$$.
I have not finished the latest story expansion, but with the game in the state it is in, I do not feel inclined to do so.
Thanks to everyone for an enjoyable time and wish you all happy holidays and a glorious new year.
