Homeward Stone - Teleport item

A special stone that can teleport you to your active bed.
Or just trigger the same dialog that appears when you die.
My goal of this suggestion is to introduce another means of transportation.
If you are worried about how this mechanic can be exploited or used as means of harassment please let me know as I do not PvP, but I kick gluteus maximus at solving problems.

Suggested ingredients:

  • 10 x Corrupted Stone
  • 50 x Crystal

Weight could be something like 5.
Consumed on use.

To avoid players storming into a base, loot something and then teleport, the stone could inherit the functionality of the trap.
So you would have to place it on the ground and step on it to activate.
Then you could also make it impossible to use on claimed land which would negate any loot and teleport tactics.
Should also not be able to use while in combat.

No dont bring a loot telepots system to the game!

This would be awesome - it would also encourage people to build further away from Obelisks.

There would need to be other limitations though, maybe a super long ā€˜use’ time that can be interrupted easily so it can’t be used as an escape.

Why not?

Because it might be used to run into a camp, steal stuff and then teleport back home?
To solve such an issue the stone could be something you would have to place on the ground and step on to activate.
Then you could factor in stuff like land claim, so you won’t be able to use it inside another player base.

Well then its 10m away instead of directly in the house.

I think there are only a very few areas in the map which are bad for a mainbase because of their distance to the next obelisk. Like den → black galleon and the northern part above that. Having a base up there is even worse than sitting on a giant cliffisland in the east.

However - that makes them a perfect home for any thief or anyone who doesnt want to attract too much attention. Though then again, those people simply go into hiding at other places.

I guess the other downside to this is then it is possible you would NEVER be able to find someone’s base, and I don’t like that idea. There’s zero chance of stealthily following them, or trying to see which direction they’re heading to narrow it down, etc.

The more I think about that the more I think it might be a problem on any PVP or PVE-C type server.

There shouldn’t be more ways of teleporation, just put some maprooms spreaded tactically and you don’t need to run lots of distances anymore til you let it decays.

I can buy the idea of teleporting via a spell with Sorcery, but it must be expensive to cast, and add lots of corruption.

I dont like it, it will kill the game!

And its alresdy far to easy to loot and destry everyting in pvp. And on to of that you can just teleport back home whit 200 000% in encumber to?

And make the maps smaler!

How fun will it be when you have all resourses in youre beadrom?

The map is already so small why bother with teleport items beyond the obelisk and map rooms. If people can just teleport home from anywhere then what risk from the world do they have while travelling back with black ice or star metal.

  • Dragon’s Heart - The heart of a dragon, seething with dark energies. Seemingly filled with a mysterious powder, it smells of alchemy and black magic. Legends tell of few who dared to approach the corrupted obelisks with such magic. Few indeed.

ā€œA dragons heart, filled with dangerous magic is known to interact strangely with the obelisks of this land.ā€

This item may allow a person to use an obelisks magic to travel, only to be returned a short time later. Little is understood about how this magic works (or doesn’t). While unstable and extremely dangerous to the user, some exiles still use this ability to their own detriment.

Causes the user of a map room to arrive in a new destination heavily corrupted, sapped of strength and unable to defend themselves. Only the hardiest exiles can endure for a time before the dark magic of the obelisk rejects the bloodied heart of the dragon and anything near it.

Causes what remains of the exile (at this point heavily crippled/immobile) to be pulled back to their point of origin, damaging and transporting any within a short distance of the exile.

Many exiles do not survive this experience, the lucky ones suffering long term, debilitating effects.


  • I like the idea of easy travels. I don’t like the abuses that could be connected to it.

  • I would like to see an ability to travel to the salt flats, harvest some brimstone at great risk to ones self, and suddenly have myself, or my corpse sent crashing back to its origins in a possible explosion of meat and guts from something that went violently wrong.

  • I would also like to see the ability to go ā€œpick up my friendsā€ at a obelisk of their choice for a visit at my place.

  • The action of being warped back to point of origin would be loud, scary, and easily avoidable. Damage from players would likely result in an exiles death, and a explosion of exile hamburger sausage near their place of origin.

Could be fun, could be abused. Just a thought on how it might work and still make some amount of sense within the game.

i dont understand the need for it, so you can load up to 200 000 encumber and just zap home whit no risk? To mutch easy mode!!!

whats the problem? male it when you need it. id its longer time on it you can have it in youre hotbar and when some try to pvp you … just ecape bye bye.

You can already do that. Respec to 50 Enc like a normal person.

This is a really bad idea since I’ll just prepare a few hundred of these stones, then hermetically seal myself inside a box on the top of the highest spire in the volcano.

Yes but you still have to walk home, and the pot dont last long anymore!

Make a mod and have on a privart server if you like it insted.
