I was expecting the update to break a bunch of mods, yet I don’t want to play without them so I’m prepared to wait until the devkit is updated and modders work their magic. I’ll probably take a break from the game and just start a new one in a few weeks/whenever the game stabilises and mods are back up. I hope all the ones I was using will survive.
Never even made it to the volcano despite getting to level 80 (modded, obviously). Got carried away building mostly lol. Was just putting the finishing touches on my epic base when the update hit.
I guess I’ll have to wait a while, seeing as the other half of the patch/update is still coming in a week or so.
My question is… how long does this process usually take for this game/what is your estimate based upon past experience?
The only answer I have seen thus far regarding this is… “Soon”
They snuck this patch out with no notice (as far as I know) and the DevKit the mod makers use hasn’t been updated. To get the DevKit updated Funcom has to send it to Epic and they have to approve it apparently.

And then there’s another patch coming soon for pets and it will be the same thing probably.
Dev Kit update is currently scheduled to drop tomorrow, pending any issues with certification with Epic. From that point on, it’s up to us Mod authors. Since we aren’t paid to do this and do so on our free time, I can’t predict how long it will take. I know that I try and get my stuff updated ASAP, but others could take longer for a variety of reasons.
The pets portion of this major patch is also scheduled for next week. That may or may not cause mod conflicts as well when it drops.
Well, I’ll just check in on things every week or so and hope for the best. Funcom will probably need to hotfix such a large update(s) too, after inevitably introducing new bugs… which is part of the reason why I’m just going to wait for things to smooth out. I just hope everything settles down within a month, I’m still really captivated by this game and want to get back playing.
HUGE thanks and respect to ALL the modders out there. I can’t express enough how much I value and appreciate your work.

I haven’t seen too many mods break. Mine didn’t break and I haven’t had to recook in months. Anything dealing with manipulating thralls might be broken, but that’s about it as far as I know.
Oh, really? That’s promising. On the other hand, the rest of the patch with pets is still just around the corner…
I think I’ll be taking a break anyway, as I’d been gradually adding mods and had just started trying out Emberlight, Immerse RP & Building Decor, and a bunch of others like Warrior Mutator. These all seem really great, but add a lot of stuff that would feel better exploring more organically as a new character, rather than just having access to all the stuff immediately. Plus, as a new character I might actually get to enjoy making use of the camels when gathering, whereas once you can max encumbrance, there’s not a lot of point beyond the RP feels.
Maybe I’m weird, but I’ve also been getting an itch to start a new fresh character for a while now.
Good to hear the patch hasn’t been breaking too much, at least in your experience.
