How many players are actually on official servers?

Just to clarify…

I do not have a gripe against oficiales in fact i only play officials

What i AM asking is to improve the the hardware on those officials , performance for this Game is not there.

My only thing against funcom is that i AM not seeing the support i believe should be present. Not only in bug fixing, but also in QA, and comunication ( i have seen signs of improvments with aoh, but it’s to soon to SEE if those are real improvements ). I do have concerns on the direction this Game is taking. I am quite vocal yes. but i AM still active playing.

I do not hate them but i AM quite vocal and strongheaded.

I still believe they really need to find a way to Fix the performance issues. Even if that means wiping the server builds and thralls . ( Not players and their toons ) But something needs to be done here.

Oh i know brother, i know!
The reason i gave my direct opinion about building limits is because i hardly take position in matters in here, yet in this matter i took. It’s a conversation that doesn’t need to reopen and probably that’s why @Tephra used the broken record gif.

ya , an i do understand his stance as well, dont get me wrong, what i am trying to say is if there is no hard limits, people will still break those, they might do it by ignorance or because they think they can get away with it.

my comments are aimed into what i see on officials right now, it is quite normal to see large bases on PVE servers.

the same i can say about thralls is not the ammount of thralls that matters but how you use em, if you park 200 pets in a single location it is going to hurt, client and server will be hurt, but if i have 300 thralls and are all over the map, in distant locations. then the hit will not be the same, and most people will not notice issues,…
There is a hard limit on thralls, and i can assure you no clan has more than 200 thralls at this point.

There are private servers that run minimal mods and some that are even unmodded. And they’re running on hardware far superior to anything G-Portal is providing. I’m not trying to sway you actually, but wanted to correct a misconception. Game on! :slight_smile:

I believe that since they removed the distance cap from thralls they already solve the performance issues of population, or at least they think :rofl:.
Don’t forget that the new update will bring way too much mobility in each base, tavern system and wondering crafters, let’s cross fingers it will go well :laughing:.
Let’s be optimistic that we will accept a good update this time brother :metal:

they float, they get stuck and they teleport, not exactly an inmersive experience as it i s right now, hope for the best but i fear the worst is quite possible to happen … i think they are making a mistake, but i guess soon we will know. i will hate to see them rolling back changes as they had to do with the combat changes, and others. in this case because they did not listen to the feedback.

i know, its their game, its their calls, but it will be wise to listen to logic, and see in wich scenario players will be most happy. i have exposed my take, which will most likely fall into deaf ears, but still we do our part,. i know sometimes i am rough and hard of them but with good intent. (sometimes i am just frustrated with the state of things) but i dont do it with bad heeart.

mistakes are expensive, and they will have some angry suit if they miss the mark and the update comes bad, i really cant think of those suites been happy after Age of war fiasco. the whole age has been from bad to worse.

For me the idea was superb, the execution was bad!

honestly funcom often has the greatest ideas, but the execution is just terrible,

aoc with the battlekeep massive battles was revcolutionary amazing, idea, the execution did heavily contribute to the game failing. it was a disaster. a total disaster.

the settlement system is a great idea, but dropping the crafters bein on benches and force everyone to have theirs in the world is just imho not only bad, but also dumb, they could have gone away with having both in the game, and have people choose. what they are doing is fundamentally changing the way a lot of people are playing this game, and that was uncalled for,

if all of those wodners were given as optional , to use it as you see fit, to have thralls wander (under player control) i would be excited about it.

this change hurts large clans a lot, and the change is totally negative for us …

i still believe it should be up for players to decide how exactly they want their settlement running. not force a change on everyone, that i know some people are ok and excited about it, but there is also a group of people who are not happy because of total lack of control, and they need to think of that.

You’ll adjust, like you did every single time, worry not.
Don’t overthink it, it doesn’t worth it, after all it’s a game m8, just a game.

Same old claims that I, a person who has been playing since Early Access have really never seen. Especially the “financial needs”. There are also quite a lot of private servers that use absolutely no mods at all, so yeah… no reason to be worried about any “mod implementation that you may not agree with” if you chose one that isn’t running any… :roll_eyes:

But sure, keep on with the same old tired list while claiming that other bear a “gripe against official servers”.

I have seen people complaining about everything that I listed. You also cut off the part where I said you can find private servers that have none of those issues. So you are the one here in bad faith.

No, you missed my point. Just as you are claiming that that people are rushing here to gripe about official servers and therefor you cannot assume what they are saying is being said in good faith what you yourself have just posted can be just as easily taken as griping about private servers and not being said in good faith. :wink:

And the fact that you are saying all of this on second hand account… that makes it even worse.

I didn’t rush in here to gripe about private servers. I gave a breakdown of everything wrong with official servers and didn’t even mention private servers and stopped following this topic until stelagel @-ed me back in here.

Then I saw everyone was griping about official servers as if they are the devil and you would be insane to choose anything else, which is not a realistic picture.

I have heard from many people who had issues on private servers, yeah, second hand. I have also heard a lot of people complaining about a lot of other things second hand. Being second hand information doesn’t mean I should assume it is a bunch of lies. Probably the majority of the bugs I know exist in this game I have never experienced personally and only know second hand. I still believe they are real bugs though.

I never even knew there was a “tired old list” of issues with private servers, I just listed everything that I could recall seeing people complain about experiencing with private servers they had played on.

Good times and good company on @UNfun’s server, and also @sestus2009 as well. But yah. It appears to be somehow related to the inventory sorting options, or if not that is certainly the workaround. I do know that I have not encountered this bug in my Singleplayer game before.

Sorry Stel but I am with Oduda on this one. And it is exactly why I agreed to play on the two aforementioned private servers, but refused point blank to join you guys on an official, and have vowed never to return to them. The comradery and the mature and respectful adult discussions and behaviour trumps the cheating, trolling, and childish CoD style antics for me every time. I like having moderation and clear checks, balances and boundaries in place.

If you decide to play on official servers… Call me. None of the above will happen to you. We are PlayStation, not pc :wink:.

I like having both. Don’t forget that in a private server… You are always a guest :wink:.

I think funcom will expand upon that with MMO tech. Too many options to list when that happens. Success will look like a happy mmo tech with “settlements”. Hope it lasts.

The unfortunate thing about the private PVP servers available is that there is next to nothing in terms of vanilla. There is usually something tweaked to the specifications of the owner. Their right and really, that’s what makes private servers so ideal. But not what I want which is true vanilla - only offered on Officials. About the only mods I’d be fine with are those that help with administration of a server.

Most often it’s gathering rates, clan size, omitting something or choice raid days. I can see the justification for some things and as a supporter of certain ideals I can appreciate the attempts but it ALWAYS comes with some other caveat. Then there’s issue with who owns the server and the convenience of their existence… I’ll stop there.

Otherwise the odd true vanilla but it’s a mistake of close friends who have a 10 person server that forgot to password it. Ooops. They probably wouldn’t like me there and I’m not that ruthless.

No they are not, not even close when it comes to Playstation console, but i can give you feedback if you wish about their performance in all the modes.
Let’s start with pvp. @Kikigirl sometime ago made a topic about pvp progression and how fast it became. So i jumped in to see what’s going on to my console.
I visited 3 official servers and mostly all of them were lagging horribly even with one or two players. The servers wasn’t over builded at all and i couldn’t understand why they lag so much. Every server i chose to play it was X1 to everything. With this horrid lag i managed to go only lvl twenty something, i don’t remember exactly, since i wanted to test if a player with valid gaming ways can hit 60 in an hour. So my 3 efforts on 3 different servers proved to me at least that’s impossible to go 60 in an hour. Yet i thank Kiki for giving reasons to play my beloved game this particular afternoon, but i cannot thank Funcom and g portal for my gaming experience in these servers :rofl:. I really wonder how people pvp in these servers :woman_shrugging:t4:.

Often i read comments in Playstation bug section and i jump in to servers to verify issues. If @DeaconElie was jumping in PlayStation pve-c servers he would definitely get frustrated even from the starting river. And tbh, i get frustrated too when devs know how important this river is for a players progress and still didn’t do something to stop massive building in this river. But that’s for another topic i guess, Playstation pve-c servers are the servers i literally hate to play and i rush to find the issue and confirm to log out.

A standard nice experience, in many cases equal to privates or even better i can say, but depending the population. You know, private pve servers on PlayStation are always low populated or empty since the day i started this game. The funny part is that it has hundreds of them :rofl:. Yet allow me to share why i think these servers are mostly empty. Because most of them are wolf lairs. And if my friend @Alexandria want to understand why people in my console hated private pve servers here’s the reason.
They become pvp servers without any warning and the players log in in a raided base. If you are lucky to find the admin and ask why, you’ll get something like…
“That’s my server, my rules”.
You know, i have over 3k hours in pvp servers and i never raided a single base. But in one private pve server i got really upset and i stayed just to melt his beautiful base to the ground and kill all his 40k hp thralls. Of course i got banned from his server but i enjoy the hell of it!
So private pve servers in my console may have a bit better performance, yet i cannot compare them with official servers, since there’s none private i played with more than 3 persons online :woman_shrugging:t4:.

The new purge system and the tavern system are marvelous ideas, marvelous! But they became reasons at the same time for people to stop playing this game. From official gaming to single player they literally create huge frustration and disappointment making the gaming experience in my ps5 console below the average!
That’s not bad faith my friend Tephra, it cannot be from a player that has over 9k hours in this game. And the problem is not the little bugs, i got used to them and made them features :rofl:. The problem is that the game in my console fails totally and i wholeheartedly wish they will give it back to me in a good shape this time. I adore single player and challenges. The performance in single player is outstanding, yet…

That’s the truth in my console, both in exile lands and Siptah!
But i still have faith.
