Every time i decide to come back to the game over the year, every single time there is a method on how to build a sky base, i can see that even after 6-7years of the game they are unable to fix it, so i suggest the following , apply a rule to the building that you can no longer build higher than 20 foundations from the ground , Similar rules exist in Soulmask and nobody can build a skybase
I like the idea of a minimum build height for Officials only (not sure about 20, that isn’t as tall as we’d think)… but I wonder on the variance of heights around the map, like the volcano? Is it too complex to implement is my worry.
I was curious so checked just now, seems that Z axis varies between 59900 and 35000 which I find interesting, so that already exists to mitigate skybasing. But I always thought it was straight on X & Y. Testing in singleplayer despite going out of render range and logging off, I can still see what I left behind at 35000 from the ground and that might just be a singleplayer thing.
Even better, starting to do a map mod. Following Snowhunter new tutorial series, and green screening could be blocked with an invisible wall. It acts as a volume, and stops player like there is an object. Dont know how resource intensive it is, but i would think little comparable to other in game stuff. No mesh, no textures just a box that stops you, and can block climbing it. So yeah, i trust the effort to stop some exloits very little now.
its XX meters from the ground below, regardless of it being volcano/river etc. so basically regardless of where you build, your base will always be visible from the ground even if its a “sky base”. So everyone can find you
