Hey. Tell me please. how to reduce the radius of occupied land on a dedicated server
Go into your host server configuration file.
They do. Not sure wheeeere exactly it is, but I know I definitely have my land claim radius at like 1/2 or 1/4 the regular value. I know worst case scenario is that I edit it in the config file. It might be something that can only be set on start? Not sure.
I will have to save my game files and have a look, but I am 100% positive that I changed the land claim radius in my game. I have rocks growing like 5 feet from a foundation xD
yep, just checked the server settings: LandClaimRadiusMultiplier=0.500000
If you want to edit it manually go to: drive letter:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\Conan Exiles\ConanSandbox\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor
Inside you’ll find a file called serversettings. Edit that, search for land claim, then edit the multiplier with 1.0 being standard. Less than that obviously would be 0.X and larger being X.X.
That said, still pretty sure that there’s a way to do it without the technical stuff, but at the moment I’m unable to hop into the game and check.
Edit: just to clarify, serversettings still applies for a single/co-op game. It still classifies it as a server, and this is indeed from my singleplayer game.
Yes I confirm this too. I modified land claim radius for my SP. Try to make yourself Admin while you are in game, there can be such settings for “solo-server admins”.
Correct. I usually keep it at something like .15 or .10 or so.
I did state a couple times that I was positive that there was a way to do it without the ini file. I just used it to check :P.
And here is the definitive answer.
Standard edition, definitely not test live.
The land claim line only show up when starting a new game and choosing custom.
When you view server settings when inside the game the land claim line is not there.
It is not there when you go to server setting on a online server either.
thanks everyone … i will try!
Makes sense, since fooling around with that on an ongoing server is almost guaranteed to make a mess of things. Hence why it’s manual-only for active games. Doesn’t mean you can’t do it though.
There’s currently a bug under investigation since it’s not showing up for people…

If any of you have more details leave them in the bug subforums so thedevs get some extra juice to work with.
It does make sense, though I’m pretty sure it’s still unintentional for it to be invisible. I’ve only messed with land claim in my single player/private server playthroughs and it mostly only affects me on things like where resources spawn and NPC’s spawn in comparison to where my buildings are. But at the same time, I could see a well established server having things screw up if that value was adjusted. PvP also would be greatly affected for that too. And my last thought, though I’ve never tested it, is maybe the Purge itself could be affected in terms on where it will spawn.
Give or take it will spawn within a certain radius outside of the claim radius, within the area the selected purge spawns in. (Which is the area on the wiki’s map for The Purge)
