How to remove unwanted NPC's?

Hi all, brought season 2 pack and began spawning NPC’s for new additions. But now I can’t kill them with the Yog pit & kill all NPC’s never worked and would be terrible as it’ll kill things I want to keep.
So all that said, how do you remove unwanted Thralls and animals?

Since the patch, you have a new option to “dismiss” them. (which is basically deleting them and they drop their inventory).

Are you spawning hostile NPCs using the admin screen? Or are you taming and placing pets and thralls?
