Don’t bother with +health armor on thralls once you are past taming exiles. For a thrall that starts with over 2K hp and should be around 3K after a few levels, + health won’t make them survive any longer, while + strength will help them kill faster and end the fight alive.
Not super effective. They’re slow and can miss easily. However they do have tons of health if you level them up. Mine is sitting around 20k iirc. He’s a glorified garden gnome outside of my longhouse build.
As others have mentioned…
They aren’t.
They are basically large globs of HP.
They’re attacks are anything but relevant, even when they hit (which isn’t often), they aren’t meaningful damage and NPCs don’t care at all about frostbite.
Also, as they are large, those who can go down quickly as multiple enemies gang up on the derpy giant.
So, if you ever wanted a huge ornament that draws aggro and (slowly) heals, they are good.
But for purges…
Yeah, no.
Just stock up on Berserkers give them a good blend of weapons with hyper armour, and feed them.
Maybe throw some scavenged golems out.
As is intended.
Remember, these pets and pet classed followers are just so easy to get they had to be nerfed into irrelevance.
That was the basic idea, right?
If you level them and give them some great T4 Fighter support they can be useful in purges up to level five, maybe six. Frost Giiants have a knockdown effect with a large aoe, so you and usually any named Cimmerian or Votaries of Skelos fighters who are using spears or two handed swords can still attack purge enemies while they are down.
I mean to ME frost giants are about as nice as they come
They damage multiple enemies
Do attacks that throw them to the ground which allows you to hit them again
They look cool (even tho they could use some variation
They sound cool
And ofcourse get 2 of them following you and sit back relax and watch them take on a crowd (but ofc make sure u got them a bit leveled up and ofcourse have food in their inventory if possible)
