man, aoc is 20 years old. And FC dont have any programmers who can code its engine. So no new features and no support. They cant even add option to buy subscription via Steam.
Only option for them is to create AoC2 on UE5 cause they already familiar with the engine and right now is good chance to take place in mmo market cause there are literally NO new mmorpgs for nearly 10 years (last was BDO and NW but nw died) expecially with good pvp.
But they remain completely silent about their future actions
They wonât even have one guy update that over the last 3 years. It is so unprofessional.
AoC lost most of its population when they stopped marketing the game. No advertising to bring in new players. And the little bit that was done, was aimed at players who were already invested in other mmos. So, if any came over, they were already bitter, jaded and burnt out.
We need fresh blood. Players that will appreciate just how special AoC is. And there are millions of potential players that donât even know what an MMORPG is and never heard of AoC.
We have a great game. Anyone who is new to AoC can easily have enough to do for a decade or more. We have all of the core game, the dlcs and the godslayer expansion, plus all the annual events and world bosses. Plenty.
All that needs to be done is a tiny bit of marketing and we can get thousands of new players every month at least. But for some reason, Funcom doesnât want to make money from AoC. It makes no sense. They are throwing money away every day they donât advertise.
I love this game and always have. Maybe they can sell it to a company that will work on it and release updates and more expansions. It is sooo worth it too. But if they donât, I will still play as long as it is around. And I hope that is for a very long time.
But for the love of all that is holy, update the homepage and news. Even if it just to have the yearly anniversary and the world bosses, it doesnât take much. You donât need to code to update a website post.
