Hunting for mission agents

I’m still trying to get my hands on Calum MacLeod, Carlos Peraza, and Siobhan Gowan. The missions pop somewhat sporadically, although not often enough in my view.

As I’ve tried sending my agents and hoping to get an Outstanding, my luck seems a bit low. So now I want to ask the community which agent + gear would have the best chance of getting said agent, or what agent + gear people have used and gotten an Outstanding. Yes, I know red gear is probably best for this, but those gear pieces are few and far between, so please don’t post that.

Edit: I’m also looking for Virgil, Sarah Skelly, and Ibrahim de la Fuente on my alts, but can’t remember what agent + gear I used to get them on my main, so any info on those too would be appreciated.

Edit 2: Adding an overview of % for each agent (those I’ve leveled to 50). Will update with new values as I level the agents. Thanks for the help AWOL and Leogrim

Note: Each value is without any agent gear equipped.

Ideally, you want to be sending agents with increased chances of outstanding results based on the traits associated with the mission.
So for Calum and the Island, it’d be power or resilience - so Martin Espina, Mihas Blaga, The Duo, Aleksey Volkov, Brann Mac Diamada, Artemis or Petru.
For Carlos and Blood for Blood, it’d be Resilience or Supernatural - so Martin Espina, Mihas Blaga, The Duo, Carter, Finn Mulligan, Lynch, Erasmus Kidderminster or Petru.
For Siobhan and Descent, it’d be Resilience or Supernatural - so Martin Espina, Mihas Blaga, The Duo, Carter, Finn Mulligan, Lynch, Erasmus Kidderminster or Petru.

In terms of what agent gear to use, it rather depends on the agent. If you can get a 100% success chance without using any gear, then an Agent Uplink will increase your chances of an outstanding result. If you aren’t able to get a 100% success chance, then you could still try with an uplink, or just use the bit of agent gear that increases your chance of success most.
You’ll often find that you’re not able to reach 100% success chance with the higher tier missions. At that point you have to decide if you want the higher chance of failing the mission, but more of a chance of an outstanding result, or a higher chance of completion but lower chance of outstanding.

Similarly with Virgil, Sarah and Ibrahim, try matching increased chance of outstanding results agents to the missions.
If you haven’t already seen it, there’s a google doc with all the different agents, their stats and sources available here.

There are no special tricks to get those agents.
Some agents have an increased chance of Outstanding results if the traits on the mission matches one of their traits. See the tooltips for the agents’ traits to see where this is the case.
If you have such an agent, and they match the traits on the mission, then use that agent. (The missions don’t always have any traits associated with them, in which case it does not matter much what agent you send as long as they have high enough success rate.)
For gear - use whatever gives you the best chance of success on the mission. Once you have 100% chance you can’t get better.

To get the missions to appear in the first place, run whatever other missions can turn up in those slots as often as you can to increase turnover among the missions.

Thanks for the replies. Have incorporated the answers at the top post.

Thanks. I already know of this spreadsheet, the one Darxide have made here, and a third one here.

I’m also in the process of building my own spreadsheet, for agent mission % chances, which can be found here. Any additions are welcome.

You guys forget Rana Kader (one of the agent contest agents)
Same ability as petru but different stats and easier to get (like the agent contest agents go for like just 8 hexcoins, which isn’t much)

You mean the Supernatural trait “Illusory Impersonation”?
States that “Rana’s aptitude with illusion magic increases their critical success chance on all missions”

If this means better chance of Outstanding, it slipped past me due to the description.

Edit: You’re right. Looking at the other Outstanding agents from the same bulk, they also have increased critical success instead of Outstanding in their text.

Thanks for the tip . Added to the list above.

Additionally, if an agent already has a 100% affinity for a mission, you can increase the likelihood of an outstanding success with a item called “Agent Uplink” which comes in purple, yellow and red. (Unfortunately, pretty rare though.)

Siobhan Gowan has completely eluded me through out , iv’e given up the ghost, just as well i ain’t no completionist, i can’t imagine how frustrating that would be if i really felt i had to have her . :upside_down_face:

Carlos Peraza has resisted all my attempts to recruit him. He’s the only agent from missions that I haven’t got yet, so I try to run as many tier 4 missions as I can so that there’s the chance Blood for Blood will pop. Then I can’t get 100% completion chance on it, so often it’ll end up with an agent getting incapacitated by it. It’s annoying to have the ones which feel like they should be rarer, but not Carlos!

I stopped running those missions after about a month of the system being in the game cause it was not very rewarding (currently I only run tier 1 single stat missions cause they’re just as much xp and don’t cost anything), but when I did them it was:

  • Greenhouse of Horrors:
    27 tries
succeeded with Maxwell Chandler (attempts largely with him and Queen Ranavalona IV, but also Lydia, Petru, Roman Konstantinov)
  • Dante’s Devil:
    5 tries
succeeded with Maxwell Chandler (3 tries with Queen R, 1 Petru, 1 Chandler)
  • The Island
    5 tries
succeeded with Maxwell Chandler (all attempts with him)
  • Subterranean Lost and Found
    8 tries
never succeeded (attempts with Queen R & Faction Recruit)
  • Blood for Blood
    2 tries
    never succeeded (all Petru)

Nothing particularly good about Maxwell as far as outstanding chances, he has Supply reduction and less chance of being incapacitated on missions which use Dexterity traits. (which does include Greenhouse of Horrors)

I had a bad time on the 2nd Siobhan mission and have just never unlocked the 3rd one.
