I need to point out the flaw in the thrall system that allows abuse of the thrall system

Cross-posting THIS because this thread was one of its inspirations (jncluding one of the side notes in parenthesis).

It no longer becomes a challenge if you bring clans in line with solo players. Like its been said, this isn’t a game really designed for solo play. I play solo pvp and I don’t want clans power brought in line with me. THAT is the challenge.

Being someone with rather limited chances for servers (live in finland), since the only ones with manageable ping are in russia, and since I do not speak russian, it’s tougher to make those numbers (Language barriers stink). So my choices are to badger all my RL friends to buying the game, or being in a small clan or solo. I would find the original suggestion for passive xp gain and all thralls getting xp even if not following the best solution.

Passive XP will allow clans to level large amounts of thralls with ease.

Solo players will just complain about that as well after a few weeks when they realize the power gap between them and large clans widens even further.

No one reads topics fully anymore. All they saw was Large Clans and passive thrall exp gain.

“Then how can the development team fix this type of abuse? The answer is you can’t.”

The development team has no counters for big clans. My other exp gain is adding exp when all the thralls kill an enemy. Shared thrall killed experience.

If you want to fight a big clan and you can’t do it solo then join a big clan if you don’t like that then you are making your own decision and the consequences for it fall on you.

As a community we should encourage a better game. Not shut down chance to improve the game. There are many games that refuse change. Most of those games are dead. The PC market is flooded with games like Conan Exiles. There are many open world survival sandboxes out there. Google them or look them up in steam,consoles stores or etc. I seek to improve the game quality of the game. Passive thrall experience and thrall kill experience adds to defense thralls.

Biggest issue here, in my opinion, and I believe that’s why solo players are ‘‘unhappy’’ all the time is because of what they asking for is impossible. Fair fight in an unfair situation.

Solos player want same level of advantage/or even chance to fight against a 10 man clan?

It’s like asking for a little corner store to stock a same level of items as a giant supermarket.
Sorry to say this but if you solo you will have a disadvantage compare to a 10 man clan, it’s simply numbers. I mean come on fellas, it’s common sense.
10 man clan will have more Thralls, more resources, more man power
If a solo player can do what a 10 man clan I would call that unfair, rather than the other way around.

Conan is a barbaric game, it is not suppose to be fair!

It’s true that we should seek to improve the game and I believe that the majority of members here aim to do so. The trouble is that there are a lot of members each with our own ideas on how and what to improve. We’ll never all agree 100% that doesn’t mean we don’t want the game to improve, just that we have different views on what improvement looks like.

Totally agree @NeoFromdMatrix , although I wanna put my hand up and say there are plenty of solo players (including me sometimes) who aren’t “unhappy all the time.” It would be just ridiculous if team play was handicapped so one person could compete.

…what I want is 24/7 raiding to be allowed on official servers, so I can guerrilla war against big clans at 5 am and then disappear into the shadows! That’s how to balance solo vs clans. If you’re in a clan and want to defend against surprise attacks then you gotta always be online. Your choice. But the way it is now I can’t meaningfully fight against clans, not because there’s only one of me but because the game artificially stops me from attacking them by surprise.

True true, I didn’t mean to categories all solo players ‘‘unhappy’’, my bad I didn’t express myself properly.
24/7 raiding? Ooooofffff, that’s tough one.I found 42h of raid time a week is actually too much for me. I have a full time job/family/kids (not mine my missus) and during week days i can barley manage to scrape together 1 or 2h play time . It will also open the gate to big clans to raid smaller clans.
However maybe give option to ONLY solo players to do something like that. Maybe once a week you have 24h token to use to raid anyone at any time so you can do your guerilla warfare.

You are right. Large clans hide behind the raid window, by ganging up for those 6 hours on someone who may not be able to be on due to real life, or just having 3 or 4 log in daily to long game them off the server… By making it 24/7, it also removes the rotection of the non raid hours that large clans utilize to mass produce. IE, 3 or 4 of their players are not into PVP, but PVE and will farm and build during non raid hours because the chance of conflict is very rare. 24/7 would make them have to at least pay attention while they were on, and may drive them away from the server after being stuck defending for 3 hours with no fighters to help.
