The combat changes, especially the removal of hyper armor, are annoying to humans, but deadly to thralls. Even in optimal gear, with great stats and buffed to the max, they can be stunlocked and killed by enemies they should be able to beat.
They also seem to more often get stuck in geometry lately, completely unable to move or attack, but being able to be attacked.
I can undestand the desire to make thralls weaker. But that should be done via nerfing their stats, not their behaviour.
Oh, wait. We had that at the end of Age of Sorcery, didn’t we? Somebody should make a poll about returning to that state of affairs.
Those iron golems come with max level. You do a little farming and make a few. I think they need a second pass to keep them going. I heard they don’t last long in the mounds, but if they are easy to make…
War party is really bugged even in single player. It’s very rare in a boss fight both of the thralls to attack to it. If all three attacks correctly there’s nothing to talk about and probably we wouldn’t had these conversations, it’s very true @Befallen.
I noticed a few changes on combat. On the player side, it became harder. I barely detect the problem pc players have, because it almost doesn’t impact controller users.
The fact that npcs can change direction so fast… I know you guys will hate me for saying this, but I love it. Now dodging needs to be very well timed. The window has closed a lot. Dodge too soon and you’ll get hit, dodge too late and you get nailed. Online the shield will be very helpful because lag will complicate things, as will not having hyperarmor. It’s all about timing now. Online, this is a problem. On SP, it’s very cool.
About thralls, enough has been said already. They need a revamp. It’s not that they are useless, but it makes combat much more tactical. On purges that concept doesn’t fly. Guards need to be much stronger and it wouldn’t hurt buffing followers a little. At least make them take potions automatically as soon as their health drops bellow 75%. They need hyperarmor and infinite stunlock needs to go. It only hurts combat, either making it too easy when you are inflicting it or too punishing when your thrall gets stunned.
It might be just me, but texture rendering seems to have improved a little, but it’s still too soon to tell. I’m playing like a noob to get the feeling a new player would have.
I’m not gonna tell you to git gud but I will tell you that I don’t take thralls with me to either place. (If I can help it.) Which means I just ignore a big chunk o’ the map.
I can level thralls in Warmaker all day but a mob of either type is just a guaranteed crap show.
