Except horses the last months, my rest pets spend their existence in a fridge. This one might sleep next to my Bella

What he said… pets are not ever as good as an equipped t4 fighter, i dont even see a point to having a animal pen anymore with the thrall limit soon to be enabled, and i willl only keep two cargo pets to transport those stones/iron/etc
But, i guess, for pve players it is still cool to have pets

Maybe they can put the old roll while on this as a mount. Get the full hedgehog experience that way.

Even in pvp pets are useful, not as followers but as guards. My clan used to put spiders outside the base because they are very easy to be killed. So if we were all away from the base, we were checking the event log for attacks. Dead spider was the signal for attacks in our base.

Will you still use them with the follower limit? Because you could simple use a t3 or t4 fighter now… besides, have you never had a false alarm using this system?
In case you are playing on PC in single player / Co op or on a private server you might want to install the mod “Exiled Lands Improved” which adds a pet like that to the game by doing a special crafting process with a hyena and some other items.
Ofcurse you can have false alarm . But most of the time you need to be alert .Plus I told you how i use pets in PvP , decoration & alarm 
. The most important pets in PvP are the rocknoses ,but they never guard , they only eat & poo
