Image Suggests Baby Animals Can Roam Bases, But They Can’t

Using an image that portrays baby animals placed around a player’s base creates the expectation that players can do that in-game. If it’s advertised that way, then it should either be a supported feature, or the image should be changed so it doesn’t mislead players.

Once baby animals are picked up, they can only be placed in an animal pen or dropped on the ground as a loot bag, but the image clearly shows multiple baby variants wandering around the player.

Let us place them down, even if the spoil timer keeps going and they decay after.

It is misleading, but there are also a couple of special bazaar options that do allow placeable baby animals - I believe one is a tiger, another is a bear. (But I don’t think I’ve ever seen versions that allow a boar or a shaleback as in the picture…)

I agree. Many items in the bazaar have this same effect.

THE MAD SORCERER
:crossed_swords::man_mage:

As for myself I like decorative pets but they are very annoying. Cats do not just roam around my base, they open doors, go into the wild and get killed by predators. I can’t lock all doors for Thralls because of Tavern patrons so I have to keep poor cats in fenced pens. Crafter Thralls don’t leave my base by the way, they just roam between their workbenches, beds and tavern tables. Please make some points of attraction for cats, rabbits, rats etc. as well!

Too late now, because you have your build set up already, but the solution that worked for me last time was to have a slight separation for the tavern from the rest of the base. Essentially, I put the tavern on one side of the base with an open outer door so patrons could get in and out, and then a closed inner door, so I could go in and out when I wanted, but the cats never went that far. I’m guessing there’s no way to set that up for you this time, but maybe an option for the future?
