Improve character creation

We, console players, know that there are MODs to have more options for customizing the player’s appearance. Isn’t it time to improve that menu? In addition to also adding races, opening up more possibilities? Okay, people will say (some who don’t know Robert E. Howard’s original work) that there are no races like in RPGs, but in many Conan stories, like the Elephant’s tower, and in the game itself in Siptah, we see clans and ancient breeds. It could give us the option of creating humans with characteristics from these Siptah clans (for example), it would be within the context of both R. E. Howard’s universe and the exiles’ game itself.

To keep things lore friendly one has to be a human facing unnatural evils.
And trying to keep his life and sanity.

But +1 for more body sliders, more heads/faces, more of everything.
And possibility of having multiple characters per server (can be optional for private servers, we all know why).

If it makes you happy, i support it, i see no reason not to.
I play years the same toon and I don’t think i’ll ever change “Bella” when i recreate character. But it’s not the first time i see this wish in here, so i support it.

A dear friend joined this forum years ago to ask butt sliders.
Still waiting!

You’ll need to be more specific.

More races is actually an interesting request. The reason being is the races in the game are presets. If you pick a Darfari and change their skin tone, default face, and other features you can make them look like a Vanir Nordenheimer. Not just look ‘like’ but be identical to the Nordenheimer entry itself. I don’t think we’re going to see new races as its impact is minimal. You can make your character look like nearly every human race in from any setting you want, not just Howard’s setting

For body sliders, I don’t see this being a thing. We have mods that do it, and they’re great. Don’t get me wrong, I use them nearly exclusively when I play outside of testing (sometimes I even plop them in if they’re not broken on the newer builds).

But they have issues. When you go outside the default vanilla limits or modify something the vanilla sliders don’t modify, there is clipping in hair and clothing, physics on both can get a little wonky too. And this isn’t a simple fix Funcom could fix by simply being the ones who do it. It has to do with how the meshes interact with the skeletons. They’ve only set it up by default to work with their already established limits.

Fixing this would mean interacting with all of the meshes created since 2017. Is it impossible? Nothing is impossible. Is it viable? Does the effort result in payout?

What I can say is Funcom does know we want these options. They want them too. The question is whether or not someone comes up with a breakthrough method of making it work that cuts down on the workload. Its possible. I’ve seen this happen in other things that were ‘hard’ in this game and others. Sometimes all it takes is a new guy with another perspective to see something others didn’t. Or just an idea randomly. We’ll see it if they do.

They aren’t sitting around a table going, “well… we’re not sure the players really want this.” They know we do, and they want it as much if not more than we do. It will happen if they figure a way to do so without needing to redo the several hundred meshes in a untimely manner.

Hairstyles, faces, beards, scars, and so forth. Oh yeah we can see these somewhat easily. I’m surprised we haven’t seen very much since Siptah. Not even in the Bazaar.

This is a situation of:

If a modder without any serious dev background can do it for Skyrim, Fallout or even Conan (body sliders + outfit rebuilder to apply these sliders), then surely fully fledged dev company like Funcom can do it too.

Have faith in them

I’d like to have sliders because in Conan both males and females look just perfect, they have bodies of someone devoted to fitness. Whatever you do with these sliders the bodies look perfect and everyone looks the same body-wise.
And what if I want to be Baron Harkonnen of Sepermeru?

We have got hundreds of haircuts from mods, but still the same few heads/faces.

We all look alike in this game.

This is why I said about kickstarter in the other thread. Let’s send someone good with words like CodeMage (I volunteer you) to ask them how much would they want to overhaul the game and we will vote on Facebook (or whatever) to pick 10 things we want the most, and then try to raise money for these greedy Funcent pricks

Its not a matter of competence, they have that. Its a matter of time.

They don’t have time for their loyal customers?

Who’s we?

My dearest @Taemien
WE…
Don’t have mods!

No, because they need to cater for their investors, which means more buyable content.

Making it work with all outfits without clipping or weird stretching takes a lot of time. Think about how many outfits we already have in the game. All of those would need to be changed in order to account for a differently shaped person inside.

And Funcom hasn’t managed to make even their official clothing and hair fully compatible. Long hair still clips through Relic Hunter top’s backpack, for example.

And we also need improved more detailed female physique.
Male characters have balls and can even change penis length.

That’s not even funny. It’s actually horrible. Be better fella.

Yeah I know. We just joked about it in another thread. It’s an inside joke.

I understand that there is a whole question behind everything that is done in the game. However, if they are hiring content creators to sell things that exist for the PC, I think they can hire someone who has already created these things to change character characteristics, which work on the PC. For example, the bench that adds more haircut and beard options, more things can be added in addition. Regarding the body change, I know it would be a big change, but I think that with the massive updates like adding magic to the game, anything can be done. But as you said, they really need to want it.

We play all modded servers now, just because the toons look way better.
