I think that the solution discussed by @erjoh & @CodeMage sounds like the perfect solution to improve the Bazaar.
The cash whales pay to get everything first (they say they are happy with the pricing) then later everyone else gets the full and complete DLC for a much lower price than buying the individual items. The whales are happy, the fish’s are happy Funcom maximises their profits so Tencents are happy, everyone is happy apart from people who want to ride dragons, they are not happy (yet)
I also like @CalteruTaalo idea that it has been sabotaged maybe to bring us real value and creativity in the future.
DLCs was EPIC, good prices (+ sales), no restrictions, every1 can pick skins and use as a trophies (lets say short time borrowing)… ehhh good old times… how low we could fell…
How far have “we” fallen indeed… Remember this?
It turns out it was indeed all about cash shops and microtransactions… and not at all about roleplaying or “pain points” for players. Color me unsurprised.
Wait there’s chroma in the base game now?? wut??!
No, there isn’t. That’s a mod. If you look at the HUD, you can see that @Winthor is using mods. My guess is that what they mean by “it requires no mods” is “I didn’t get those building pieces from a mod”.
Ah and here I foolishly thought FC had done something cool so you could deal with the hideous orange sandstone! I should have known better than to believe such a thing! LOL
yep, we need more skins to T3 bulding pieces, for price ofc, i mean entire overhaul for 5-7 usd will be nice.
So we can fit our bases in different biomes…
-forest\jungle
-desert
-grasslands\plains
-rocks\mountains
Today T3 builds are just white or black on the most part…
It would be nice to have T1\T2 reskins too… but i think most people never stick with those too long anyways
So the latest offerings are disappointing as well. Especially yet another set of sandstone pieces that they want over another 1k crowns for. Talk about milking something for way more than it’s worth.
Well i’m happy I got the ancient armaments so that was the last of what I wanted out of the first set.
Feedback on the sandstone building sets : I would pay for the sandstone sets IF it was some sort of building pass that would also provide similar items in the other build structures (IE the launched with sandstone but all building sets would get included with the purchase as artists get done with them)
I’d love to see more placeable decor items in the bazaar. Sacks would be awesome, and already exist in the silver mine dungeon, so I’d think that’d be an easy addition. Stacks of lumber, piles of stones, trees…the potential is there.
They have an absolute wealth of things to sell us in already existing game assets. It’s ridiculous that they aren’t putting them in the bazaar from the very beginning.
It would go a long way towards giving us options and choices. In fact, already existing game items ought to have their own category and never be on a rotating basis but rather permanent offerings.
The dev stream for chapter 2 showed some some good stuff armours placeables and events so some stuff is on the way. I like the khitan samurai armour and the animal armour as well
I believe that they also hinted about adjusting their shop pricing too.
I love Conan and really wanted the Bazaar to be awesome but, the prices are just too high. You’d sell me alot of items if prices were half or lower. 17 bucks for a table with some food on it? There are 10+ mods that literally do the same thing. I’d rather be able play unmodded if you’d make and sell cosmetic packs 10 bucks add in like 20+ things. Make it appealing please?
If I can make one request in that please price isolated building additions of already paid content accordingly (IE new cathedral additions to stormglass which is already monetized in Siptah DLC) These should have a better discount than base game additions (IE sandstone set 1 and 2).
Why? You also have to pay for the basegame. Its not, like it is free.
But in comparison between the sandstone sets and the upcoming stormglass, the base game cancels out and so Stormglass has another price wall associated with it so there should be consideration for that in pricing the SKU.
I love what you are saying. The basic idea of the bazaar is awesome. And the way they are talking about it they are trying to refine it. They need to put a little Rock Star attitude into it. We will see.
I’m all about FC making money and continuing my hobby/addiction called Conan but consideration needs to be taken account that an upcoming bazaar item should be priced as an enticement to a larger DLC purchase. IMHO, I would set the costing @ $5-10, knowing that this would also trigger increase sales of Siptah DLC when EL builds show off dark cathedrals of sorcery…but that’s just me.
So, I’ve been giving this some thought, and I still don’t understand their pricing. The overly expensive pricing model seems reminiscent of f2p games, not a game that requires an initial purchase. For example, in games like Red Dead (I’m assuming similarly in GTA, but I don’t play it) and Fallout 76, you have the ability to acquire paid currency via a grind in the game. In RDO, it’s gold bars that can be farmed in myriad ways like treasure hunting or fulfilling challenges, or even dailies. In FO76, you can get limited numbers of atoms for the shop via in game challenges, as well as a FREE season pass that has them with certain levels. Allowing for alternative methods to acquire Crom coins, even if in limited quantities every so often or with a tougher grind to farm them, would make me consider spending more on the bazaar since they don’t feel so finite and expensive. Granted, the prices should also come down a bit as well, but I think with the alternative free methods, it feels more justified. As it stands now, I’m thinking entirely with my wallet and not like, “oh shoot, I’m still short a bit. I could buy some coins now if I want, or I can grind out some missions and check back in a week, or wait for the next rotation to buy that.” Let’s face it, the game should entice f2p players as much as the whales.
