Incarmine shield bleed

I have never been much o a shield user, but wanted to explore that aspect of the game. I made an Incarmine shield, for the interesting bleed feature. Went to try it out and these are my findings:

  1. Attacking with only the shield does only the same damage as unarmed combat (are shields always like this?).
  2. No bleeds are applied while attacking.
  3. Shield bleeds only apply if you are blocking.

All intended behavior? I really wish this shield would apply the bleed during offense.
