Incentives for players to stay in the game

I played fine for a couple hours yesterday. If you aren’t playing are you on an Xbrick? I hear their servers are down. If not why not?
Which one? Neither actually stops you from playing.

Why?
I think maprooms on PVE are freaking ridicules. One at an obelisk is a community convenience.
But why, when you come up on an obelisk and find 3 open map rooms would you think it needs a fourth?
The sink hole on the server I’m on has no less the 5 open maprooms with in sight of the obilisk.
Why?

Most games have some sort of fast travel. Neither the map room nor the transpatory stone pads are bad as long as they are used with in reason. It just seems “with in reason” is a term too many people are unfamiliar with.

One or two maprooms by an obelisk is reasonable 5 is just stupid. One transpatory stone base is cool, 5 is fine, but 18?
18 looks like an avalanche and I don’t see how you can use, but apparently this one single player clan had 18 bases on the server.

Note, when that person left and all those bases decayed away you could quite literally fell the change in server stability/performance.

You want to give me an incentive to play? Actively moderate the servers.

@GullTopp

we could also hit them
force them to stay
tie them up
sequester them
torture them

Sending a player to the wheel of pain could be best ever!!!
Player loose his character and you get a warrior, with same level, stats, armour and weapons, depending on character, player have 3 times to don´t loose his character or just one try,and the slaverer will need more time to convert the slave, your friends will raid him to save you, will you offer anything for your freedom to the enemy?..or can i pay crom coins to free my character?..to the player wich has caged me,to a bounty hunter, from the game or others players…can i pay to Funcom?..and funcom to slaverer player?
Raiders will be playing always!!!
This could be the master of the very best!!!
WTF,WTF,WTF…

Incentives for players to stay in the game

New events,live camps,slavering players,Crom coins,more cheaper things to build,decorate,thralls emotes very,very cheap,new dungeons and new maps,with a correct price…don´t stab us,please.

I don´t like teleporting.

sorry I will speak in my native language that i did’nt choose

Why they are a great utility for people , most people dont wont to walk all the map again and when siptah got released it was one of many problems players pointed out making the map empty.

Also like i talked many players dont have much time to play some players play just 1h for day the map room cut they times traveling giving they time to do things they really need to do.

And map rooms dont lag , we have raided a base in server 4509 they have huge loot and since we are going to drop the corrupted stones one of our members give ideia to we build maps in all the place from obelisk in brimstone until silver cave just to test the server we builded aleast 50+ map rooms after the pvp time over , here it over 0h am so just our clan and 1 random was online for our suprise no one single lag we run with horses and no one crashed and 2 our members play in ps4 of course after it we destroyed the maps to dont be reported.

Now if we try run with horses near al merayah castle it 100% bluescreen crash😞

I didn’t claim maprooms cause lag. Although I was on a private server that limited you to 2.

I’m asking why, if there is already 2 open maprooms at an obelisk, would you add a third, fourth, and fifth?

That’s not what @AndersonKain was talking about, or @Taemien either. You’re moving the goalposts. Here’s what they were talking about:

You’re the one who started talking about multiple public map rooms around the same obelisk, not them.

As for whether people will quit or not, sure, some will quit. But if it ends up making the game more fun, it won’t matter. I would rather have some people quit or move to private servers or single-player if it means that people on the servers will actually play rather than just refreshing their theme parks.

Not a bad assessment. Though I think if this is to be changed, we’d need actual group content to warrant it. Which I’m not against.

I don’t play Siptah, and this is after helping to run a server for a year with Siptah. And while I can only speak for my self, it wasn’t due to a lack of fast travel, but the RNG of the map. But I don’t believe people would leave over this, I think they would hem and haw over it of course. But not leave. But removing the fast travel options would definitely require changes to make the overland travel worth it. But I don’t think players are so strapped for time that they can’t ride on a horse to any point on the map and not do an objective. Even doing one of the longer dungeons, and starting from the furthest point away using a horse to get there (or even on foot) leaves you plenty of time to get there. Now… if you’re on a PVP server and get accosted on the way, that might change. But the interaction is an event in itself.

I would also point out that adding more group content is going to add far more time needing to complete it than simply riding a horse to it. Especially if they do it right.

I have always thought mapping around removed a key gameplay loop.

For pvp, raiding would take some planning . A FOB closer to target as a battle point. Remove token going to invemtory and now you have a moving map icon to target during war. Right nown it is a quick port in and bomb or spawn in 2 minutes before token by target base.

For pve, it would foster trading, as those that dont uave the time could trade resources from thier areas.

Incentives for players to stay in the game. Deal with the exploiters. I’ve never been under the mesh but I would imagine there are limited spots to build and some would be more popular than others I think. Just like with the old meta bases in the perma structures. There were only so many spots to build upon. I should think admins could take an hour a day and spend maybe 10 minutes on 6 different servers checking the “hot spots”. My opinion.

I think they should get rid of transpo stones or limit them to 2 per clan/unit. IMHO have been highly exploitative and creates the problems being discussed more than maprooms. At least obs and maps are strategic and you still need to travel somewhat, transpos are like dimensional dumpsters placed everywhere XD

FC just wants the exploit fixed. They don’t go directly after an exploiter because there could be many.

The incentive for playing any game should be that it is fun.

If more is needed and we want to use the Crom Crypto, then create a side system like ESO’s endeavors. Altho that is suspect at best.

No.
Full stop.
Just no.
A game that has a single player off line mode, boot you for taking a snack break.
This would be amusing if it wasn’t so wretched.

Right now teleports will be our salvation
With thralls opening doors the only way to make they safe are making one box with no doors and one teleport in mid both teleports closed.

It is the only way to safe our thralls from be killed by zath orb , purges or stuned and draged npcs like beserks and volcanos ones.

I think before you jump to transpo being your saving grace you test the settlement system out for a few days to get acquainted with it.

I 1000% agree with limiting Transpo Stones.

They made it ridiculously easy for players to traverse the map and by default gave players an excuse to have 15 bases.

I miss the days when Siptah just had horses and the server performed like it.

Transpo Stones ruined the game.

It could be a server setting: how many transportory stones/clan are allowed?

Siptah is already the ugly unloved bastard child, and restricting the only teleportation option too much could hurt it even more.

Ya Siptah is a bit different. PVPing on there before sorcery meant someone always had to stay home during raid hours. It took so long to get back to base.

But summoning corpse removed all utility of most reasonable travel anyway. What does it matter for maprooms and Transpo stones if you only have to give up one sacrifice? At least the exploit is fixed in Beta.

So that’s another I think should go.

I don’t know, I use map rooms and transportory stones is to make farming faster. And I use them for that a lot more frequently than I use the corpse summoning. The expectancy of dying is a lot lower on a non-PVP server

But think about it, you’re relegating yourself to previous habits and preference.

You can farm anywhere, pull bracelet and summon the farm.

If you’re taking followers, put them on scouting somewhere safe and they’ll come back on their own.

I don’t even bother taking followers or travel via maprooms or riding to get back home, what is the point?

Do you know, I honestly didn’t even think of that? It’s just so… cheesy.

That too. Playing like that would ruin my immersion.

Make no mistake, I’m not saying you’re wrong. I’m just saying I would be sad if they removed corpse summon because of that.

I use corpse summon mostly when I screw up big time, like getting too cocky in a dungeon and knowing that I most likely won’t be able to retrieve my stuff either naked or with my backup gear.
