I only quibble on The Keyhole. Many of my allies like that spot, so let it be open.

If what you build you can doubt, then don’t build !!
Between the Medisté, the jealousy and the stupidity of some pushing them to sign you just to recover the occupied place or because your base is very beautiful in their eyes, the meta of the report on the pvp server to erase a clan that we do not may submit under legitimate conditions .
The lack of clarity of the by Funcom on the rules and their ambivalences retaining the change of certain rules which were now accepted by all, so many reasons which should push you to be careful during the construction of your base.

Why crevice is not allowed to build??? Is this a joke?
It has nothing and it gives no advantage at all!
If crevice is get you banned then what about the other ready building ruins of exile lands, or the hole in the south of Siptah, or whatever “hole” exists in the map? We are talking for pvp aren’t we? If your enemy is better then these, “holes” are your doom!
I don’t believe there should be a conversation about crevice at all.

Yeah unfortunately it didn’t dawn on me until after I already built it. I remembered someone threatening to report me for building there a few years ago. I guess I never really cared on PVP since I view everything as temporary there. You’re right though. Going forward I’m never going to build in a questionable area. I’m even having some questions about my new build location since it blocks the angry goat, but I’ve heard they have explicitly stated that they won’t delete bases for blocking spawn locations, and the angry goat is essentially useless anyway. Maybe I’ll put an open chest out there with some better bows in it for people to compensate.

I think Codemage summarized it well. The likely reason is that the people who enforce disciplinary action are outsourced contract employees that do not understand or play the game. Since the crevice was clearly designed to be a build location by the game devs, this is really an issue worth some attention in my humble opinion.

Yeah, you’re right. Later I considered that too, they may take issue with the gate frames being there still since I could pop the gates back on. For now, I’ve reluctantly moved out and moved my base to the top of Bjornar’s Stand. I just pulled off the gates for now, but later tonight I think I’ll take your advice and rework it so there are no gate frames. I guess I’ll just hope for the best that it doesn’t get deleted since it still looks really nice, and maybe I can convert it into a community area anyone can make use of I guess.
Are you sure? They told you this? I spend a lot of time exploring the map; have since it dropped and still finding stuff. I have found, I think 9 similar passages, maybe not as long but still short cuts. I’d be real upset if some one closed them. They all look like they were meant to be built in. There is this spot, short hidden passage to a large high cliff overlooking the plains up to the jungle. Sure as hell looks like it was meant to be built on, never seen anyone build there.

Considering that in the past they have turned accidental buildable areas into non-buildable areas, I’d say I’m more than confident yes. Had they accidentally allowed the building in the Crevice they could have blocked the area off during one of those updates.

I moved to the cliff behind Bjornar’s Stand where the Angry Mountain Goat spawns. It’s another popular building location.
Its a poi with nothing in it and you do not even need to enter it to get the entry. People nowadays argue that building there blocks the passage and therefore people need to walk around the whole mountain to get to the other side, which is a big fat lie because several meters away there is another passage which you could use instead.
Crevice was my first big build when I started out in 2018. There was no one who carred about building in caves blocking any content. 6 month we where playing at this spot on the same server and it was the best time of my life. I met my other half and a couple of friends, we had epic fights at this cave. Sometimes 4 hours and more which mostly ended in inviting our enemies to our half destroyed base to hang around and take a jump in the holy yog pit before we started gathering ressources half the night to build up again. Its a great farming and build spot.
People just ruining everything nowadays with their stupido blocking claims all the time. Our admins back then only interfered if things really got out of hand. Nobody cared for where you build. And we didn´t had horses or teleporters for our convenience.
I have the feeling the more time passes by in this game the more people get angry about anything and everything. They spend way more time nitpicking and accussing people for breaking the law then to actually play and enjoy this game.
And Funcom rewards this behavior.

I don’t care whether people build there, or not. I don’t care if they block the entire area, or not. It is so rare that I venture that way it really doesn’t matter to me whatsoever.
What I was trying to say is that in the years that I have played I have seen several people / clans banned for building there - as I am sure many others have too. Do I agree with it? I really couldn’t care much less either way. Building is not my bugbear. It’s the toxic language and behaviour that grinds my gears, either in game, or these forums, that in my opinion should be banned.

Ive never used the crevice as a shortcut and actually never even bothered discovering it until recently…
You don´t need to enter the cave to get the entry. You can do it from outside. I don´t see why building in this cave is reportable for blocking any content.

You can be banned for building on any resource too. Reporting people for bans is now a PVP meta unfortunately.

What?? When did that happen?? I have built at the Crevice (the one in the Highlands, not the desert, since there are 2 locations named “the Crevice” in the EL map) for years! Man I’ll never play on a server again if this is how things are going. I’ll be good on my solo games. If people can get banned for building at the Crevice of all places then the server aspect of this game isn’t worth it anymore.
It would be nice to get an official feedback from FC on this since now that world bosses are fair game to block, has there been other leniencies in the interpretation of the ToC (@Community )
I find it sad now going by the crevice since no one builds there anymore.
