Is doing a surge worth it?

They are looking into some sort of offline, but it is very early 8n dev. Dynamic Building Damage. FYI it is basically while your clan is online you can be raided, and if your clan logs off completely, there is a small window after that you can be attacked then you are safe. IE
DBD is set to 1 hour.
3 clan members log at 10 am. While they are online, any one can raid you. Players 1 and 2 log off at 1 pm, so only player 3 is online. You can still be raided. Player 3 logs off at 2 pm, you can still bebraided until 3 pm. After that, as long as no clan members log in, your base canā€™t be raided. meaningbif your clan wants to take a day or 2 off, they can. They also were talking of a setup where DbD was on Monday thru Thursday, and Saturday. Friday was current window rule, and Sunday nonraidbday. this was to counter possible log off exploiters and spammers by allowing Friday to be a way to clear spam on hiding clans. Sunday was a day to rebuild.

So it goes back it 9s not worth it when there are more efficient ways to get decent thralls. That is the question is it worth it? And no, it is not.

It is worth it, from what I can tell theyā€™ve significantly improved the T4 crafter spawn rate. Donā€™t think Iā€™ve run one since my return that didnā€™t drop something useful or sought after. I spent hours running camps for a temper smith, only to have one spawn my first aquilonian surge.

Edit: I guess thatā€™s the long answer, running surges will get you T4 crafters faster.

be interested if someone has compared the spawn rates of camps vs the surge. Surge is a way higher %, but how much prep vs the rng of kill to 15 minute respawns to get t4
crafters luluā€™s farm the area for mats. I havenā€™t done surge since they changed it tbh. not my cup of tea to farm and then summon and fight 7 waves hoping no one lifts any of the named I knock out. So for me, solo at least when I farm camps, I can get loot off of kills/zeal/and can stop knowing I didnā€™t work for a poacher to scoop. Once you start the surge as a solo, you are fighting about 140 thralls.

Surge has a much higher spawn rate, and farming the blood moon beast isnā€™t terribly complicated. As for poaching, I havenā€™t had any issues but can understand why one might. My server is pretty friendly.

Edit: itā€™s worth mentioning, at times Iā€™ve gone to summon the surge at fairly busy times and it completely bugged.

For me Surges are worth it. The fighters as you point out are not really better but the rare loot and the crafters are very much worth it. Some loot is only available on Siptah via a surge.

Auch ah ok sorry: I never played the Siptah thing so I didnā€™t knowā€¦
but damn I was looking for some crazy crossover with Deck 13ā€™s games. (I loved the first Surge!)

False.

Surge fighter thralls are best on Siptah.

They say there are some unique recipes and loot in the Surges which you canā€™t get on the Isle.

This has traditionally been true, Iā€™m not sure if that remains true with the introduction of schematic fragments.

Edit: guess I should say why, Iā€™ve gotten several of the cooking recipes and armor recipes that were surge specific.

I obtained a few recipes I needed, like Specialist cooking III by only doing Tier 1,2 surges.

Hereā€™s some information from an old guide that is somewhat outdated, however the information on Recipes and enemies still seems current.

Iā€™ve also made a short video showing very basically how I do surges solo. Itā€™s easier than ever with having a WoP close by. Followers are set on ā€˜Wait hereā€™ command, ā€˜attack everythingā€™ - distance 15 meters. I usually only use two , but I had a 3rd because I had just completed an East run which has the ridiculously high HP Lizard men.

Regardless, you could do this with 2 or 3 leveled T3 fighters np. More fighters than 2 just make it fasterā€¦

Wak did a video a long time ago illustrating how to use the water to your advantage by jumping out of it to attack, or using arrows, hiding behind pillars etc but I have my own simple method these days.

First thrall capture is at 2:38.

Twice an arrow bow, and simple thrall commands work wonders. With blunt arrows you can KO whatever you like and your thrall will eliminate everything else.

T4 thralls tend to be a bit taller in my experience

Side note, you can also just summon a purge now on Siptah. There is a wiki map that shows where you have a higher chance of human thralls spawn as purge. Again, if you have about 2 hours to dedicate to the full surge and trust your peers on server, surge is best chance for T4. If you feel like doing other things and like running camps, they work, but low rng. Then you can gamble the summon purge at a base for third option.

Yeah itā€™s funny that. Makes them looking more intimidating until they come out of a long hot spin cycle.
