Is the jungle a complete waste of space or am I missing something?

The place is beautiful.

Best place for levelling, plenty of hidden small spots, even some kind of hidden big spots. Decent amount of Iron, plenty of wood and leather, decent amount of gold and silver, one of the best crafter thrall camps, a good fighter thrall spawn, a dungeon with good recipes, 2 obelisks while the jungle isn’t that big so 70% is kind of close to one.

Only things you need is (more) brimstone and black ice, but both the best spots have an obelisk and no matter where you build you can’t be close to both of them (and on 90% of the map you wouldn’t be close to either).

The other two best dungeons have an obelisk close (right next to one) and again you wouldn’t be close to them on 90% of the map.

Jungle is underrated.

Apart from whatever spot you choose to build on the map, you could say that about 90% of the map. How many people go to the northern snow after they got the star metal and black ice they need?

Leveling with apes is my favorite thing in the jungle. I go there with every new thrall to get them to 20.

True, however I prefer to teleport to sinchole and farm the crocodile River, it’s faster . The aloe absence is not only in jungle, but returning to jungle all I will say to @arktara is to give it some more time and explore a bit more. I can understand the hostile environment around the obelisks, or the annoying roars of gorilla, either the birds, still…
If you fix a base there… And the rain starts falling… And the music theme of jungle will start… Then you will just fall in love with it… Trust me.

My current base, is in the east.

Mainly (but not only) because virtually no-one goes there. I’ve been able to build up a good sizeable base right under the noses of some big and not very friendly rival clans. Partly just being there and staying under the radar has enabled me to survive the vulnerable time when you are building up.

I’m all set now, and I have more or less anything I need. The main exception being Star metal, that means a proper expedition.

For me the biggest upside is also the biggest downside, it’s miles away from anything, a map-room is a must.

My only real complaint about the jungle is THOSE GODFORSAKEN PANTHERS on the southern obelisk that kill me while I’m loading in. There’s a special place in the Well of Skelos for whichever game designer put those there.

(There’s also a special place for whoever put the exit for the Well of Skelos right next to a lot of hostile volcano thralls who ALSO kill me while I’m loading in)

I had real trouble on ps4 before I replaced the drive with an ssd. This was the ONLY reason I switched to an ssd…

PS5: 5-10 second load @ teleport. 15-30 seconds to enter game. Totally different game.

I could see more bosses and other fun added to the jungle.

But here is the issue with filling it up…those of us that like it is because so many different gems for bases. You start filling it up with stuff to do, the base locations becomes low.

I just mean a couple 3 star bosses that would despawn anyway if you build too close. I would personally like a few more islands in the water with some interesting stuff.

And that would be grounds to getting your base removed by admin if you blocked a 3 skull boss spawn.

I can see one of the islands…maybe a massive ape around the witch queen temple where building is limited anyways…heck you could have a 3 skull serpent on snake island. Actually there is a spot just NW of eastern Barracks where you could put a 3 skull jaguar (it’s a shallow pond where jags are at already)…ok nevermind I see lots of potential to put bosses around and maintain prime locations.

Very good point . I forgot that is one of the things they don’t like now.

yea… I never got to try some of the locations that are on the new naughty list.

I’ve been trying to limit myself to locations where players can’t build or where building would be against the tos anyway.

Between the Jungle and Snowy north, there is mechanics missed. Slowed running in the nuddy swamp and deep snow. Aestheticalky awesome, but missed potential for immersive environmental challenges.
