Is this going to be a regular issue now?

So it’s happened again, servers go down for reset, but don’t come back several hours after the time. I play on a PVE-C server. Servers go offline for me at about 0410am. It’s now 0755am and they are not back. No American pve-c server showing at all. Is this common place now? We wait hours for the server to show? This is getting ridiculous…

The only solution is to get a private server. It’s like people don’t even see that as an option. If it has “getting ridiculous”, what will you do when you realize that it actually is ridiculous instead of getting there?

I see it as an option, but I’m not gonna pay more for something that should already work. See my point.

And private servers are just that, an option, they can suffer just as much mismanagement, config issues and are still subject to base game problems. Additionally on PC, popular private PVP deal with frequent hacks that require serious attention from the admins.

The actual solution is for meaningful, frequent and tested attention from FC, to treat and prevent service disruptions.

There are only 2 options for servers… public or private. Only one of those options allow for blocking cheaters/grievers, password access, and a good admin. Having a private server that is open to the public is the same condition as a public server, being open to anybody including cheaters and grievers. So, when I say private server, I’m not talking about repeating the same conditions as a public server. I’m talking about a private server because that allows for blocking cheaters/grievers, password access, and a good admin. That does not make the two options the same. I have 2 private servers and nobody is allowed on that I don’t know and there is no grieving, cheating, or unwanted behavior. Getting a private server is what a player can do without having to worry about Funcom’s technical shortcomings. We both know that Funcom will continue being Funcom. Furthermore, the OP is on a console, not PC.

Getting a private server would not be paying for something that you already have. The game does not come with a private server. It comes with access to public servers. So, if the public servers always have issues, the only other option you have is to get a private server.

If the game comes with access to the public servers, those public servers should be maintained. That means making sure they are up and dealing with reports/issues in a reasonable time frame. Sure, there are other options and no one is disputing that, but it’s not unreasonable to expect the provided access to actually work.

And when public servers are messed up, the only option is private. Yes, the public servers should be working, but the reality is that the issues are persisting. So, your choices are deal with the issues or get a private server.

Those servers are part of the game and experience and for console players more necessity than not since there isn’t a way to get private servers without paying for it.

Your solution isn’t a solution at all but a work around to avoid accountability. People have the right to complain about things that aren’t working right just as you have the right to complain about design decisions that hurt your game expectations.

All American servers (PVP/PVE/PVE-C) are up and can be found by setting the filters to PVE and country to EU. That is right, even the PVP servers are listed as PVE. The server reset config file must be screwed up again like last week.

Ok. Don’t get a private server. Continue with the same. Don’t try to help yourself and instead, continue to try to democratize control of what Funcom does with the game via this forum which they rarely pay attention to. Continue to complain and gripe about the public/official servers and deal with the disappointment. I get it… having a private server makes no sense to you and you won’t be doing it. I’ll continue playing without the issues of public servers on my private servers. The game is awesome. I enjoy it every time I play and I really like the latest update. It’s great playing the game without worrying about official server issues.

I’m sorry you’re such an angry person.

The people that are angry are the people that are making the complaint and gripe posts. I don’t have a reason to be angry and if you interpreted anything I stated as me being angry, that’s your belief. You will continue to believe what you believe. It has no impact on reality. My post history does not show angst, what about yours?

My two cents worth.
The logical solution is a Private Server. Irrespective of what Funcom should do/not do with regards to the official servers that they support.
Logic/common sense says they ain’t going to do diddly squat. If they haven’t fixed it by now, it ain’t never going to be fixed.
The player base can shoot poison arrows at each other all night long but it won’t make a scrap of difference.

Think about how much you have already spent on the game (be honest with your self).
Buying a old (as an example) HP Elite 8300 for $100 is cheap. Set it up as a server and problem solved.

We all see the world through different eyes. But . . . being different doesn’t make us wrong.

Just food for thought.

Happy New Year all.

Except consoles don’t have the ability to connect to a dedicated server like this.

They can join a private server or rent one through GPortal. GPortal being the only SP approved.

On this forum, if you think different from the consensus… look at the reaction/comments EVERY TIME. Some people are antagonistic and will be no other way because that is one of the reasons they use the internet. So, if a player is playing on a private server, I won’t be suggesting that they do anything different. They apparently like to be annoyed and will see the only solution as being wrong or off the table. People that play on official servers do so for a reason. Let them continue annoying and grieving each other.

If there is a valid reason to complain, people should definitely complain. It doesn’t matter if Funcom reads it or not. If nothing else, it gives potential new players an idea about the state of the game and it’s definitely better than acting like everything is fine.
