Where is the ability to craft that acquired from? This doesn’t seem to say: Voidforge Gladius - Official Conan Exiles Wiki
at the tower, you need fragments of power
It’s one of the random recipes you get from the tower using the fragments of power.
As others have said…it’s one of the RNG recipes in the tower at a cost of a fragment. I would bring at least 20 frags with you because the gladius, the shield, and vagabond armor were all more difficult to get than the other recipes…the bow? I got like 50 bow scrolls. The Sledge? Yep…lots of that. The shield? Only one popped out of the around 100-200 I did, cumulative. Same with gladius and vagabond armor.
Wow, something doesn’t sound right.
The light armor I tried was this:
Voidforged Vagabond
It has some “Set Advantage” but I dunno what exactly, the only thing that’s specified is “Wanderlust” whatever that is. Seems like maybe it’s only a faster stamina recover?
The Heavy armor I typically use to fight anything stronger than a rabbit is this:
That’s Wolf Hat & Chest for “Great Wolf’s Strength”, Serpent Braces for yet more strength, and Khayne’s Boots to bring strength all up to +18.
My attribute setting with that heavy armor looks like:
and just subtract all of the plus bonuses for the Light.
How are you only getting 1/8th your health removed from his hits? Is it that my attributes are bad?
If you make the gladius it doesnt matter which armor you wear, the boss is toast
I don’t know about bad, but I probably wouldn’t be going into that fight with less than 30 in Vitality (I also tend to have a similar amount in grit, because I like having lots of stamina ). But then I tend not to have any points in accuracy (because I rarely use bows anyway).
My current build I managed to set up so that encumbrance hits ‘pack mule’ if I switch to a set of epic light armor with Bearer’s Pack, or I can hit ‘Hard Worker’ by switching to Asuran Armor + Witchdoctors mask (but I’m not sure any of that is available on Siptah), but can still maintain 30s in Strength, Grit and Vitality (and at least strength hits 40 when I switch to combat armor and buffs). Assuming I can get into the game today (waiting for mod updates ), I’ll grab a screenshot.
Only one perk in vitality. That’s why you feel like you are one shot. If you take what you spent in accuracy and spent it in vitality it would make a huge difference.
Since you said you were not using arrows on him you wouldn’t need the accuracy against him.
I go toe to toe with him a lot. Both with and without a thrall. Daggers for bleed and if you can add poison. This will get to his hit points faster then trying to raw damage him because he has tons of damage reduction from his armor.
I use this build. https://youtu.be/1X7j1CdrL5c
He is the arena champion with a different weapon and skin.
Here is a comparison video of the 2 thralls.
Vagabond isn’t a fighting armor…go with silent legion light if you want fighting light armor. Vagabond is strictly a scouting based armor set. The benefits are increased climbing speed, decreased stamina drain while climbing and increased swim speed.
OK, I’m going to try that… And/or follow that video you linked. Thanks!
So yeah, my attributes were bad. Vitality is more critical than I thought.
That would be awesome, thanks man! I have to find Asuran Armor or where it is. I think I’ve seen all the Cambial stuff, in Siptah - on the private dedicated server I used to play on. The night vision one and some others, so I just have to relocate them again to get those I guess.
Sounds like an interesting build… I wanna try!
Well, looking at the build @Wak4863 posted, it’s very similar (great minds and all that ). And you might want to tweak it if you can’t get hold of Asuran Armor/Witchdoctors mask on Siptah (as I mentioned, I can’t remember where they are, if they’re even available).
The base build is:
With Epic Bear Shaman armor and the Brute Helm, I’m getting 496.7 armor (with weight reduction kits on the armor) (though the Bear Shaman Helm is also fine - the only real difference is 1 point of strength) -
So then adding the buffs (I’m using fish, but Elixirs would work fine) -
(And adding Vitality warpaint would bring that to 40 as well)
Meanwhile, in Epic light armor with the Bearer Pack -
And switching to Asuran/Witchdoctors mask (plus need to add either Elixir of Ingestion, Survival Warpaint, or use Black Blood Tools (which give plus 5 survival while using them),
If you can’t get hold of the same survival gear, then it may stll be possible to do something similar by stealing a few points from other stats and making sure to use the buffs for them when you need them - Encumbrance could come down by three (and just use elixir of numbing to get back up to Pack Mule when you need it), and arguably you could afford to steal a point or two from each of the physical stats.
The downside with this build is not being able to use Pack Mule and Hard Worker together without re-speccing, but I generally find I don’t need to do the carrying while I’m harvesting, that’s what the caravan rhino is for, so I mostly just use pack mule when building or moving lots of stuff around.
Hmmm, I’ll have to look into that. Danm, I’m such a n00b!
I think I probably harvest 10 to 15 thousand pieces when I go out - on average. Be it grass, rocks, wood, shrooms, whatever. Double that if I’m going for hardened brick etc. All I have to hold stuff is a level II Barer and my horse. I have a few baby Rhino - I’ll look into how to get/make a Caravan classed one. Thanks for that! And yeah, it it’s following at 5m my carry ability can be uber-low - I don’t mind too much.
Looks like I’ll also have to sus these too:
Unknown to me.
And oh, BTW, what do you mean, you’re using fish? Fish eats do something different or add to attributes?
Caravan rhino is a thing from the Turnanian dlc - raise the rhino as normal and the craft in your inventory with one of the fodders (probably Turanian Fodder, lol) - they get 30 inventory slots, which is nice (Fodder is made in the alchemy bench). If you haven’t got the dlc, a Camel is also pretty good (and can be bought for gold out front of the Camp of the Castaways ), or Bearer3 has 25 stacks and Bearer 4 has 30. (Gazelles also have 20 slots, but they die very easily…)
Bear Shaman Armor is from another of the DLCs, I think it’s Blood and Steel (same one as Assassin and Barbarian sets). If you don’t have access to that, any mix of epic medium strength and grit armors should be able to provide similar effect (and you can probably get better stuff on Siptah anyway) - I highly recommend the Fists of the Drowned if you’re going for medium armor on Siptah (+2 to every stat)
The Brute Helm is a legendary medium helm on EL - drops from ‘The Brute’ in the Unnamed City - gives +3 strength rather than +2, but isn’t essential. And again, there’s probably better options on Siptah.
The fish I was referring to come from the Deep Sea Fisher feat, which lets you craft Improved Fishtraps. These then catch small quantities of Eel, Catfish, Grouper (plus Dogfish and Anglerfish, which are largely irrelevant if you have the others) - cooked versions of these provide +3 to Strength, Agility, Vitality, Grit and Accuracy between the three main ones. Again, I’m not sure where they would be available on Siptah - the recipe is probably somewhere in one of the RNG chains, but I don’t know where you would get the scales of Dagon that are needed to craft the traps. Either way, the Elixirs that can be crafted in the Alchemy Bench provide the same effects (and fish and elixirs don’t stack, so you could only use one or the other anyway) - they just need powder ground from the various lotus plants plus some alchemical base.
Since you are on Siptah. I tend not to need legendary weapons on Siptah…better to focus on the craftable items than farm legendaries (but two come to mind…blindsight and shield of the great oak both worth the grind IMHO)
Look into aspect of the bat helm, silent legion armor Light or Medium ( I prefer medium because the change in character encumbrance doesn’t affect stamina regen as badly as light) and bracers/boots of the serpent.
using t4 armorer
helmet is +3 vit, +3 surv, +3 grit
SL-med coat +3 Agil
SL -med legs +3 vit
bracers +9 str
boots +9 encum
Shield-voidforge -+2 vit, +2 grit
Weapon of choice-Annoying Shard. Ax with gouging bleed (gouging affects undead)
Secondary weapon- Voidforge gladius
tertiary weapon-Outer darkness daggers (with hard hitting thrall…trust me…worth it to layer 6 sunder on anything)
I believe the armor reduction is lie 69% which is very doable for what you get in terms of bonus and stamina regen.
Aspect of bat is at bat vault
serpent bracers and boots at either serpentment vaults
Silent legion medium, VF gladius, and VF shield is RNG at tower
Outer darkness is at the spider vaults
Annoying Shard is a delving recipe for axes (RNG and 50 eldarium bars)
Scales of Dagon are on the fishmen…sort of a improbable drop but they do drop.
The Deep Fishermans feat is RNG at the end of vaults and the 5 schematic fragment methods.
Witch doctor mask is in the undead city to the west. Look for pale large 3 skull ghoul. Drops witchdoctor items.
Asura armor is at the accursed city next to the tower at the very top. mini-boss lady dressed in aesir armor (~50% spawn rate) drops them. watch out for the berkserker up there. Best ot climb up the north face of that plateau than fight your way up there.
Wow, interesting! More homework for me.
I still haven’t even figured out what RNG means but most (or all?) recipes only come from killing the dudes that rain down from those four Focus Leyshrine thinggies. And I’ve only just tried to used them like, 3 days ago, in the Testlive Client.
Dragons are mostly on those islands you see to the south there. Conan Exiles Interactive Map - Isle of Siptah I guess dragons drop dragon scales - it’s been a few months since I killed any. They seem to die easier on this map than in E.L. though - or maybe I was just spaced out - I dunno.
Dagon not dragon. Dagon is a fish god so fishmen. RNG Random number generator. Term used by us to denote randomness programmed in to create uncertainty annoyan…er…diversity in what each player gets.
OMG, what have I gotten myself into? Talk about a homework assignment! And I’m just stupid enough that I’ve already pasted most of these instructions (from everyone) into a spreadsheet to later check off as I complete them. There went my lazy days of base building, admiring the trees, and watching the honey pour.
This video should explain the fish more thoroughly
Random Number Generation (just as I’m sure you probably use the term) - often used to refer to systems that give you a randomised option from a preset list. In the context of Siptah, there’s a few ‘rng’ recipe blocks - the Tower provides a random recipe in return for a Fragment of Power, the guys that fall from the sky can carry random recipes in loot, schematic fragments can be collected at the Pools of the Grey Ones (and combine to provide a random recipe) and the big chest at the end of vaults has a chance to include a random recipe. Each of these sets of recipes appear to be different, and are the only ways to get some of the recipes (including some that are easily available in EL). Given that there’s also no ‘duplicate’ protection on any of these, and that testing I did a month or two back on the Library of Esoteric Artifacts (which is an Exiled Lands version of the way the tower works on Siptah) revealed just how many fragments of power are needed to get the recipe you want - that’s pretty much what people mean when they say Siptah has ‘too much RNG’
Edit: As erjoh said - Dagon wasn’t a typo (for once ) - on Exiled Lands the scales drop from fishmen - I guess on Siptah they might be available from the drowned vaults, but I dodn’t remember finding them.
