Hello! So I run a server that has one particular person who simply has troubles getting in. They go through the mod mismatch, then get to the joining server. After awhile it simply fails to join. I’m hoping someone might have had a similar issue, or runs a server and has seen this before and knows a fix.
The log shows this specific message which seems to be the issue:
[514]LogOnline:Display: STEAM: Ticket not valid - (SteamID)
Now I was helping him troubleshoot this, and it does take him ages (literally 30 minutes) to get past the mod mismatch page, and another what felt like 30 minutes with the joining server screen to then receive the failed message. So maybe the session is dropping by the time he gets in, not sure. There’s not much about this error. A few old posts from years ago that reference deleting the Steam /config directory, and others that recommend reinstalling Steam. We had him try the removal of the /config but that did nothing.
He joined the server initially and it worked fine, but since that first day he gets the failed to join, and with the Steam Ticket Not Valid showing up in the logs.
Just hoping someone out there might have run across this and knows a solution / work around. Cheers!
