one is to generate revenue with the existing player base , the other creates a virtual interest to attract possible new customers

i was talking about the reasons for FC/Conan, one is customer retention, the other customer acquisition. You are right, both are carrots.
Smallish streamers hope for more viewers, as they are offering giveaways.
I find it highly annoying, having some stream run for hours, just to get a certain item and am I going to watch that streamer again? Hell, no, I am not even listening to him now.
I participated in the first round of twitch drops and found somewhat stale and didn’t since and won’t now. If that pulls some lost souls to buy the game, fine. It desperatly needs new players and not the zombie refreshing horde that is mainly populating the servers right now.
I find it symptomatic, that they are able to rotate the bazaar items like clockwork but didn’t manage to fix the friggin inventoira, they broke 7 weeks ago.
Sums up the state of affairs pretty well imho
