Does this mean harvest tools, healing items & weapons are allowed in the hotbar (I hope), just not in your inventory?
Those sound like some really challenging rules, I look forward to hearing how it went for you.
Heres an idea for a future competitive challenge run:
Multiple players (anywhere between 3-20 players) have the same exact goal on the same server
The goal would be to complete/defeat a certain set or series of bosses and/or dungeons. I like there being a specified order to tackle them in.
PvP is on and no drop on death so that it’s effectively a race to get the content done in a certain order without major setbacks.
You must be alive in the room when a boss dies and at least one of your hits must land in order for it to count
Exceptionally quick enemy respawn times would be in play so that if somebody misses a boss they would have another chance soon.
Being able to have level 60 characters and gear could be an option, as doing this run with a certain build/loadout (Corruption, anybody?) might be nice.
Anyways, I feel like a bunch of players rolled up in this event would make this all relatively chaotic, but that chaos would be the main reason the run would be fun, not just the act of winning.
Oh sorry. I meant the crafting menu of our inventory tools and weapons, meaning that you cannot fix them and use them, only loot them and use them.
Thanks for you question @DaVice
Yet the only allowed tools for harvesting are black blood, no other. So if you loot any other tool the only use is dismantling bench.
If this includes those rescued from cages, then I recommend a cage in the area of the three Nordheim towers. There you often come across named fighters and artisans, often pirates and from the volcano.
Good evening .
Thank you for the invitation.
I will try to connect as soon as possible.
If I understood your rules correctly, we can only have weapons looted from defeated adversaries and for harvesting only tools of black blood (hot for the challenge)
Yes. Imagine a start that you cannot do your first journey step, you cannot pick up anything from the floor, sticks, stones, fiber, aloe, literally nothing. So you have no tools, weapons and healing unless you loot it from a box. But don’t loot tools unless you want to use them as weapons . Your first kills will have to be fist fights or kicking, but watch it because you probably don’t have anything to heal. So your first 10 -15 minutes in the game are a bit difficult.
In my start i went straight for the Musashi. Doing it on an American server made my life difficult, the lag was high and the stygians humiliated me a lot. But this weapon opens automatically all the “doors” in the game from your very beginning. I had a Musashi at lvl 7 . I went back to the exiles murder them one shot and stealing their rough wraps and weak aloe potions.
Same with Darfari gaining armor pieces, food and potions. This was enough for me to go to the unnamed city and lvl up a bit with skeletons. Before lvl 40 i exit the unnamed city and went back to the stygians for more potions, buffs and decent meals.
At this point i went on Den to take the Belly dance and guess what?
In a challenge that i cannot use tools i took the maw of Hyena . Yes that’s the game!
Is using weapons from chests and/or the flotsam chests allowed?
Can you repair weapons with repair kits that you’ve looted?
How about gold and silver looted from chests to buy food and drink or thralls?
I’m assuming cheesing coffers for large amounts of gold would be… frowned on but it’s not specifically mentioned.
Edit: I’m also assuming that once you’re 60 and can build things that it’s allowed to make potions, bandages, weapons, ect in your benches but it may be best to clarify that as well.
You can use whatever you loot, except tools. The only tools allowed to use are the black blood and you can fix establishment only after lvl 60. There for you will lvl up with everything else than harvesting.
Definitely. Later on you can craft weapons as well, but not before finding a crafter. Yet no slavery is allowed so good luck on purges, cages and tavern system.
Yes buying is allowed, although is a form of slavery, yet we can see it as hiring .
Like @LostBrythunian says, if you don’t use a truncheon and a wheel of pain then it’s more rescuing than slaving.
No my friend, use every mean to be wealthy, this is a smart move, i have absolutely no issues if you don’t either.
Yes, but not before hiring or buying from Buccaneers bay an alchemist. Benches should not work alone, our companions are helping us to survive, build, dominate in these lands.
The spirit of this game session is to become what we expect to be in these lands, saviors not tyrants. We steal to save, we kill to save not to slave.
The challenging part is not big, i admit it, but it’s enough to get us out of our box, out of ordinary gaming with minor restrictions.
When we create characters we all fix tools and weapons.
We fix bedrolls, bandages weak aloe potions and secure our survival and fast leveling. Now you need to steal to survive, you need to kick, to punch to stay alive.
Some of us do the journey steps (in all my sessions i did them just once and it’s more than enough ) to level up, or grind materials.
Some of us run really fast to the mount of dead to slave a Berserker and play full encumbrance all the time.
Well no. Now until 60 we are on our own. If someone build on authority and buy a thrall from Buccaneers, good luck, but i don’t believe that this will help, i see it more of a delay than help if you’re getting me. Build agility, steal a Musashi and be 60 before you know it.
Let these lands know who rules. Make a legend of your name!
If you participate you will make me really happy .
Please let me know what you didn’t like in the ruleset so next time to create something better, all of us together.
Let’s show to @Caroll how the fighters role play .
Hello. I logged in yesterday, full of confidence (too much even) and from the first group of exiles, I was put in my place lol.
A fun and frustrating experience.
What can make it frustrating is lags . We are both Europeans and it doesn’t help a lot that we do it on US servers. But the benefits of the private vanilla server are really encouraging when you will need the server to perform correctly. Purges after lvl 8 can bring you totally on the ground if the server is crashing your game.
Other than that in the chat of @speedice we can inform that we start a hight lvl purge.
All the members of the server are in this chat, so if i see this message i will wait for your ending message to start mine. This way we won’t crash the server performance.
I am really happy you participate @mynotaure, really happy .
For the moment I haven’t been able to build anything …… ha yes……. fresh graves, mine.
I went to Supermeru to loot the chests, I was lucky, I found steel weapons and potions .
emboldened by these finds I went to tease the Dafaris lol, They feasted on my corpse, result: return to square one.
Let me suggest you an alternative start.
I have been trained enough to jump in the fortress if Al Mera yah and gain a Musashi.
Yet there are easier options.
The Kurak cave has plenty of weapons to the back round, so take the staff make a frozen bridge and get weapons and patches.
The skeleton over the bridge that starts from the unnamed city and ends to the chaos mouth is an absolutely easy kill and it gives you the watcher sword.
The jailors on north almost always drop a star metal short sword.
The chests in the black keep on the ground floor have very decent weapons.
The easiest of all!
Find 100 gold from chests and head to the Buccaneers bay. Buy a soldier, place him on the ground, take his sword and shield and break bonds.
Yet for me again, jumping for Musashi defeats all the above suggestions. My first 20 points are always agility and with a Musashi almost everything is 2 hits max.
Offence is the best defense .
Ps. When you have any decent weapon and a bedroll, then try your luck on stygian soldiers of Al Mera yah. They drop hardened steel weapons, healing items, food and buff food. Then again killing a mama spider with low grade weapon is easy and she drops a hardened steel weapon plus huge xp.
I will try to follow your wise advice.
I particularly have a big doubt about the Stygiene fortress, each time I tried it, it was tears and despair (for me) .
I want to buy enough food to last a while, I’m going to try to free an NPC to have a companion (is this allowed by the rules?)
