Just burnt out, missing adventure

Been playing since the game dropped. Back when I was with the infection crowd. Got over 4K hours in the game. Bought all the DLCs; although I never got in to siptah{?}. Had pretty much been playing single player for quite a while when the age of sorcery hit. Actually jumped on test to see what it was.

Legacy bugs: Skip.
Misuse of the test servers:skip.
Over priced bazaar: skip.
Official PVE server looks more like GTA then Conan: Skip.

I’m weary of it. Some times I feel like I’m going to pop because I am so frustrated with funcom. Just where are we going? What I see, and think I have said before, is Conan drowning in a sea of content.
I want content… playable content. I want dungeons, quests, adventures, challenges; and I don’t mean go mow 10 patches of grass.

Ah well, back to playing single player to milk the chapter pass for enough croms to buy the next one. Because, as I have said, turnabout is fair play.

Maybe the next chapter will get me excited enough to play again, maybe I’ll buy Dune when it goes on sale for $10 and it will be so good I wont play Conan again.

And maybe Gwendoline Christie will ask me to escort her to some award ceremony too

Been playing on Playstation since day one. Stumbled across a young lady from New Zealand playing on YouTube was hooked with the way she said beed rolls. I can understand burn out playing on official now barely get on our 2 private server not much fun there. If you take a break just might be something worthwhile waiting for you. Currently playing some older disc games.

Been playing since before the game launched. All through those ‘heady’ days of testing, begging for updates (and getting them), etc. Did the PvP thng on Official. Clearly a toxic environment (mostly) that, back then as there were a lot of areas that were attractive to that type of play. Stumbled into the world of private servers where it was possible to moderate via mods (thank you Joshtech and PIPPI). Since then have stacked several thousand of hours game play - and still playing (on PC).

I think that if I had only been into PvP ;crushing everyone else’, did not enjoy the Conan genre, and had not already been into FRP stuff, I would likely have drifted away. But, I found that I could get a ton of enjoyment playing on servers where others of a similar mindset also played. Where there was a balance of building and some PvP and some proper adventure and that meant making some friendships, seeing some amazingly good builds, and thoroughly enjoying the challenges of the game.

Oh, I’ll play other games here and there, but none with the movement, style, breadth of options, challenges of any of the other games have the same. I now play on modded servers where there’s admin-overwatch. Occasionally there’s the old child’s-play where someone tries to axe-grind with some exploit or the other, or just some odd ‘political’ or personal thing going that makes them try some online shenanigans, but the Admins quietly smooth that over and all sorted out.

I do wish that it was even possibly practical to Admin-watch all the Official servers all of the time, but that would be whack-a-mole to the n-th and not remotely feasible - would take a hundred active admins 24/7 to keep watch (compliments for them trying).

I do feel for non PC-players though. I would likely have found the core game sans mods boring eventually. If it had been possible to bring in these ‘chapters’ back from Launch, I think that would have been amazing, though impractical back then. Also, there are more and more open-world games appearing that draw players away. Expected. But, for my small purposes, Conan Exiles still holds my interest: excellent movement and effects. Great fighting moves and immersive build vs battle vs grind. Excellent (mostly) sticking to the genre. Awesome Modding community.

Whenever I feel I may be getting “burnt out”, I dabble with some other game for a bit, but always find myself revisiting the Hyborian Age and Conan again.

ps: I really do wish that there was a practical, non-abusive way to refresh parts of the Exiled Lands map, Siptah, etc so there was more variablenessess. Bring in more random encounters and wandering purges. Keep those new Sorcerer encounters. If ever feasible, change some of the existing maps so players have new stuff. Finally, thank you Savage Wilds modders, and other map-mod makers, as you have collectively added many more hours of fun and exceitment. Huge thanks to all Modders for your work too.

Just curious about this reference. What do you mean @DeaconElie?

I’m more of the opposite. I get burned out with gta and have been playing Conan lots more.

The way the map is built up it looks like downtown. At night it looks like Vice city.
One of my issues with the server is it’s hard to go around FPS laggers. I usually run a at 70+fps, a few places I have to go around because the palaces drags my fps down to 10-15. Not going to blame the builders, you don’t blame the drug addict for their addiction.

There’s still times of day I can’t log on because there are so many on the server.

Happy valentines day m8! I saw that you changed your avatar for the day, cool :+1:t6:. I understand you’re in love, happy for you.
Now, back to the topic!
Yes, sometimes people playing on official servers, since the system as it is favors rng, even in rules, you’ll step on these s… t too.
I say favors rng, because the only way you’ll understand that you did a mistake is, IF someone will be annoyed by your builds and happen to know how to fill a proper report. So the chances to escape admin wipe are rng!
I say step on these s… t, because people cannot understand the whole philosophy of the game. Making safe routes you destroy the game.
Helping someone to kill a world boss with thralls guarding close to it, you destroy the game.
Building huge builds close or above dungeons, caves and camps, you infect the performance so, there you go again, you destroy the game.

No matter how many times someone will log in and see the message, that the rules for playing on official servers are changed, please read the follow link, 100,200,300, the user will NEVER read the rules and we will not stop having this on official servers..

And i say to the friend i visited to his server to play with…
I bet this guy eventually will come to the forum to cry for his ban…
Deacon. I am a jumper. I don’t have commitments anymore with any of the official servers, or private servers.
I don’t care for what i have and what i will loose. Yesterday on Waks server i sat down and fixed this

I don’t care if purge or decay will bring it down, i have builded hundreds of different bases, in hundreds different servers, from pve to pvp…
All it matters is that the particular day i wanted to do this and i did it, because this is gaming, this is fun. Commitment to gaming assets…
No way!
