Lag on ps4 pro and more lag on ps4

Game mode: [Online | Singleplayer]
Problem: [Crash | Bug | Performance | Misc]
Region: [Here]

Will there be a fix for Playstation lag? I have wasted mats on lag during placement. I have died countless times due to invisible mobs. Rubberbanding falls off of cliffs. Deaths while map locks up the screen…

This product should not be live on Playstation yet. Please give us a fix that makes this game work like most other Playstation titles.

Actually, standard PS4 has a much better performance in this game then the pro.

We have 3 ps4s and a pro. Not sure why u say that but would like to know. Very bad lag on all most of the time. We have fios 85/85 also

I play singleplayer only due to stuttering and graphical lag and even in singleplayer I often get 1-2FPS in combat or when sun sets/rises. Every now and then (every 5-10 minutes of gameplay) I get freeze lag of up to 10 seconds - just standing still. There needs to be a patch for this very very soon

Patch 1.12 today did not change lag status on the Playstation clients. I also noted additional lag when teleporting.

The Lags and Freezes on PS4 get worse with every Patch. The whole Game feels laggy und unpolished. Still. While in my own Fortress its partially unplayable until I remove lots and lots of Stuff
Especially Fire seems to slow down the Game extremely.

Come on Guys

Hi, are you on a PS4 Pro by any chance? if you are, could you go to your settings, scroll down to system, then to boost mode and make sure it is off, then restart the game and see if it reduces lag. and could you let us know how it turns out?

Sorry, just a normal PS4

Same here, i havn’t found anybody to test this yet, The devs are aware of the lag problem, it just might take awhile for the update, something i tested on day one release was the lag, i played the game while it was downloading the 14.6GB update, after the update installed i restarted the game and had extreme lag and freezing, it was a big update so settings were changed among other things, so i erased my game save and settings, started a new game and i only have minor lag every once in awhile, i do this every time, to many things get changed  it lessens the chance for corrupt game saves

Ive stopped playing. The sound lag on my system makes it not worth playing alone. The sound effects come at minimum 10 seconds after every action. This is not a finished game and in no way should be out of beta on ps4. They should be dishing refunds out for us as this is NOT as advertised. Im on a Pro as well

It seems that lag is not very bad compared to what it was before that patch… BUT… in single player, offline mode. Online, still bad, especially in New Asgaarth, Sepermeru, pretty much everywhere where you got more than 5 NPC’s. That’s why I just play offline till they can fix some of the online issues.

As @Bharr1989 mentioned, the audio lag is ever present, both online and offline. It’s pretty disturbing to fight a NPC then move on and 10 seconds later you have some screaming and sound of weapons clashing, out of nowhere. That’s a bit… jarring.

And if I had to delete my save game, after all this playing, even in offline mode where I can spawn my own stuff if it gets deleted… really that’s not the way to go. It must be so much more painful on the official servers, with the XP and gathering rates there. So for now, I am not touching online, I have too much of a real life to have to grind over and over the items and levels lost there

Hoping things will look better in the near future though.

Hi, if u have a PS4 Pro, can you turn off your boost mode and see if it reduces the lag, please i can’t test this

I am afraid I cannot, I use a regular PS4 myself, but I see numerous posts mentioning some problems I didn’t encounter on my PS4.

Ok, yea it seems pro’s are having worse effects , someone mentioned turning off boost mode made the game more playable for them.

And I was thinking of buying a Pro these days :joy:

LoL, me too, i think i’m gona wait awhile longer now.

Well, I think that if turning boost mode off, and it also seems to be having problems with this game specifically, I still believe a PS4 Pro is a good investment

My update finally installed, time to start a new game, if you decide to do the same thing, make sure to erase the settings to, along with the game save. And may you only have minor lag to, like me

So erasing everything, that includes the save game as well, right? So we lose our character, basically?

How’s the lag online for you after this move?

It’s ‘placebo’ effect, game is build using sdk which supports ps4 pro so there cannot be any difference between boost mode on/off i’ve checked it numerous times at digital release and after officials started.

Also my pro have an ssd, and it does not solves ‘big freezing’(like at summoning place of yog, or whatever it called) issues, but it does solves invisible enemies and weapon is also rendered instantly.

Making pro a lot cooler and silent by replacing thermal paste to liquid metal as well as replacing thermal pads does not affect game performance at all.

Only thing I did not test is reducing console output resolution(pro users with supersampling may need to disable it for the same effect), it might increase fps if game is rendered in native 4k, but it won’t solve freezing cause there’s another reason for them to appear instead of actual console performance
