Land already claimed?

Built my building, put several crafting stations, chests, etc. Knocked down two walls intending to expand and am being told the land is already claimed. Won’t even let me put the two previously existing walls back up. There is no other structure anywhere close.
Suggestions/ fixes? Thanks!

Find out why they are not unique to each other. When it works, climb the nearby wall going way up there. Like stated before, :bomb:.

Continue to build. Maybe you’ll give it another try and find out why.

It could be as simple as a foundation left behind that is enmeshed.

Are you playing multiplayer or singleplayer?

On a mutli player server- but there’s no one anywhere close; in fact one of the estates near me is gone.

Ok, so someone else reported something like this recently but I can’t find the post. I don’t believe they had a solution though :frowning:

You should put in a bug report regardless.

A couple things you can rule out is to look around to see if anything is built, even 1 foundation if you haven’t already.

If you’re on an Official server, by submitting that report there is the possibility that Funcom might be able to investigate it and remove any enmeshed foundations, if that is the issue.

If it is a private server, talking to the owner to look into it might be helpful.

Being that the walls were already there it’s hard to say exactly what it is.

If you have a bed/bedroll nearby maybe try move it farther away? Unlikely but never know.

Try de rendering too, port out to the other side of the map and chill for a bit then go back and try again.

Was this an older build? I believe it was @Croms_Faithful that mentioned experiencing this awhile back when some changes happened to make new areas not-buildable in a place he had already built.

Hey @heaven13 you may very well be thinking of me. However, I should clarify that my issue emerged with the implementation of the anti-undermesh feature, but was later remedied with the addition of the ‘allow building anywhere’ setting in the Admin Panel. Since then I have now regained ALL building related freedoms and ownership of structures (*my most profound and heartfelt thanks to the Conan Exiles devs for this addition, I cannot express in mere words how grateful I am for this setting!). There is however one know exception to this; Al Merayah and a small expanse of land encircling it. It appears to be governed by a different set of rules and the setting does not allow building there when activated.

@UncleSaltie two questions for you. 1) do you happen to be built in close proximity to the Al Merayah fortress at coordinates H7 on the map? 2) is you server a private server or official, and if it is the prior, do you happen to know if has the ‘allow building anywhere’ option enabled on the server?

No I built in an unclaimed area- meaing no other player structures anywhere close. I ended up relocating but what a chore! lol

The base type called “sky base” causes a problem like yours. If there is a base under the ground or in the sky, it demands a vertically unlimited land. Similarly, “dancer thrall” also has an unlimited vertical effect. Even if you put it on the ground, it has its effect on the 80th floor.

Is there no solution? No. Maybe wait for it to rot after 480 hours. If the building is yours, don’t visit it for a long time, let it rot. Or it may be a hit box problem. a slave or craft station. Yes, I remember, it happened to me too, it did not allow while improving the build quality. The problem was the craft table. First I demolished it and then I rebuilt it.

@UncleSaltie

This may be unrelated, apologies, if so.

I noticed this weekend I was getting the “No Owner” bug.

This occurred when you placed anything and the ownership flag cleared, meaning you lost the ability to move it or build around it.

I filed a big report about it last year.
