Just as with thralls, there needs to needs a land claim limit throwing down foundations just to claim land needs to have a cap. I understand it is a tactic but there needs to be an upper limit.
as simple as land claims are to get around they are sorta a wuss made method so i agree
i disagree why would you need more then at most 3 bases at any given time?
if your in solo mode im sure theyll have a mod for it and if not then unfortunately you gotta kinda deal. having that incredibly large of a foot print is sorta the reason this is happening at all
I still think Land Claim Flag idea needs happen⊠It wouldnt âsuperâ limit it.
Youâd have be abit more cleaver with Flags, and this way anything outside flags zone decays in hour or so.
I need rewrite that topic with some pictures⊠it would stop need for umbliciles, and prevent full blockage of locations and obilesks. At same time, Give some bases small openings that players had pass thru.
The majority of players play online with up to 40 people doing the same thing you are. The game shouldnât cater to simply one person to make it just fun for them. I can come up with a multitude of reasons with would be helpful and only a few self serving reasons why it wouldnât
I agree with Shadoza. If crap like this is implemented for server players, then it should be given an option in the solo game to reduce or remove it. While i do understand the value of something like this on server play, solo players like us shouldnât have to suffer so server players can get their way. A toggle or slider, like the tether distance one, or a simple switch to turn on or off such a feature, would ensure both parties being able to play in the fashion that we want and enjoy playing the game in. We bought the game too. Also, its total horsesh.it that you say we need to âkinda deal with itâ. What the f*ck ever, man. Your money isnât better than ours.
I donât disagree that there should be a option for it in solo play however it canât be expected to be a thing immediately
Why? Because we are solo players? I paid for this game too. That makes no sense to me. A switch or toggle covers all of us.
ABSOLUTELY agreed, Sir, although im not a huge builder, your idea makes all the sense in the world to me.
I tend to set my land claim radius to .33 so stuff can grow near my base, but i know thats a separate thing than what weâre discussing. Shadozaâs method of play above sounds super fun to me and Iâd hate for the chance to try it be ruined.
I agree with no limits.
As for the number of pieces deciding decay time, it is in place. but there is an âexploitâ way to counter. By building and linking with just sandstone every so often, the entire thread becomes one claim, even if i take out the sandstone in between. It leaves a âghostâ thread that canât be undone. People have used it to link bases half a gird square away so they can log in and just refresh one spot, and cover a lot of space.
By the way, I ADORE the concept of purge difficulty being tied to level instead of location.
âŠOkay, maybe location should influence it some⊠I do beleive building near the Mounds of the Dead should be dangerous. All those raging Cimmerians ransacked Venarium (Velitrium? I cant remember⊠i havent read âBeyond Thunder Riverâ in a long while nowâŠ) in the original stories and all lol. But still, thats just a rad idea Zerog. I love it.
Right! But when my guy was like 23, and my first purge in the desert was rocknoses ⊠with those massive boss rocknoses in the final wave⊠it was a miserable loss lol⊠man i was so surprised. A player level connection would, imo, be quite fair on both ends of the spectrum.
Iâma be real with you if a clan is scared of any purge there probably not very good at the game⊠I have a base in the volcano* exclusively for the odds of better purges
My main base is north east of the ice chasm and havenât had any issues with ice Giants or skeletons. Purges in general are kinda soft imho
The rocknose one sure wasnt at level 23 with the final wave rocknose bosses lol. But ya, i have to agree they can be pretty soft, im over by rivers end kinda southeast from the mounds of the dead. Im constantly purged by Cimmerian beast tamers. 2 cimm berserkers, 2 named dancers, a named bearer and myself handle every purge easily. And its a great way to farm epic cimm gear as well as dragon parts haha. Its fun though and fortunately i havent yet had them spawn in on my rooftop. Knock on wood.
Really i think the rocknose purge is oddly difficult for where its situated.
Thatâs fair at lower levels it can be a pain in the â â â
You know that there are official PVE and PVE-C servers, right? Itâs not just PVP, single player and private servers.
Why do you think people play on PVE and PVE-C servers? Why do you think Funcom organized a building contest not so long ago?
Look, Funcom has been treating PVE and PVE-C players like dirt for quite a while now. I understand that coming up with good solutions is expensive â I worked in gamedev for a couple of years and I know it can be insanely complicated. I also understand that having two such disparate game modes (PVE and PVP) is even more complicated. However, at this point, it would be more honest and kinder (in the long term) to just shut down all the PVE and PVE-C servers, instead of making sure that playing on them sucks more with every update.
I play on PvE and Iâm having a hard time understanding how this change will make that mode worse. If youâre the kind of player that likes to build really big, then yes, this change will be difficult to adapt to. But, not all PvEârs play the mode like that.
