Yep! But even more than that, you need to log on and be close to your base. To ensure it refreshes you should always pull out your repair hammer and make sure the timer resets

If you play on single player or set up your own server, you can turn off the decay timer. However, if you are playing on a public server, yes, you need to log in at least once every 10 days and be close to your base or the server will think you “quit” and delete your stuff to make room for a new person.

As the others replied, yes, you need to log in and refresh your stuff before the 10 days are up. After the 240 hours (10 days) your base will go into the “decayed” state, and can be demolished by anyone. The next day, it will auto destruct.

For the sake of completeness, also keep in mind that building decay and thrall decay work a bit differently. To refresh your building(s), you need to login and be near them. You can equip a repair hammer to examine your structures to check their status. Sometimes it can take a minute or so for the server to refresh the decay timer.

For thralls, you just need to login to the server within 15 days. You don’t need to be near them, simply logging in will update the status for all of your thralls and pets.
