Although not exactly the same, Planet Calypso, part of the Entropia Universe, was sold for 6 million dollars to a company, Virtual Worlds or something. I think around 2005. But you could profit on it, so it wasn’t exactly useless. I think that set the record for the most expensive game virtual item ever sold. I think there was an egg there too that was sold for 60k or something.
