Game mode: Online
Problem: Lost Items
Region: Priestking’s Retreat
After spending a significant amount of time on collecting supplies and upgrading my Set Temple I initiated the final upgrade and went off todo other things because the upgrade takes some time to complete. When I returned it was not there and I assumed it was a rendering issue. After a couple minutes I checked the log to find out all of the items had turned into a lootbag and had decayed.
I have spent entirely too much time to just lose these items because of a glitch or bug in the system. I would greatly appreciate having them returned to me.
Thanks in advance.
Steps on how to reproduce issue:
Collect supplies
Build Temple
Temple randomly turns into lootbag and decays.
Hope FunCom does the right thing and returns your items, but quietly doubt they’ll even respond.
I thought this issue was addressed in the last patch.
Unfortunately Funcom won’t be able to replace in game items.
In future staying in the vicinity of altars whilst upgrading, or placing them inside buildings are your best options.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to provide any refunds of materials or equipment lost, as there is no MMO-like admin support for the game in official servers.
As LordKAA has mentioned, we’ve addressed this issue in a previous patch and have been unable to replicate it ever since, could you please provide further information, preferably a screenshot of the Event Log and the location it was previously placed in?
I would assume your server works similar to all other servers and granting admin privileges would allow someone to access the menu to spawn in items. Your teams can go in and remove builds that obstruct items on official servers, it’s hard to believe you can’t replace missing items.
After going against my better judgement and trying again, I decided to watch the upgrade take place this time. Keep in mind this is built on the aqueduct remains on the southern side of Priestking’s retreat. I have all other temples built along this in-game feature. Three have been upgraded with no issues. Ymir, Derketo, and Yog are perfectly fine. Set has now been lost a second time. When the upgrade was complete, it disappeared and turned into a lootbag. Fortunately, I had removed everything from it in case of such an event.
I assure you this issue was not fixed in an earlier patch. It lost stability and I am including a photo from my cellphone of the log as proof. Again, this was not built on foundations. It was built directly on the in-game structure that has no issues supporting other such structures.
In the event that I am completely wrong about being able to replace items I would like to ask for access to 1 future DLC as a show of good faith for my loyalty to the game as I purchased my copy full price on the day of release and for bringing this bug to your attention. I would consider that as fair compensation for my troubles and a fair courtesy on your behalf to a dedicated fan and player.
@Snoogans99 they don’t go on servers period not to remove someone’s base built in the spot that is blocking spawning. And not to hook you up with supplies to rebuild. Wish it was different in both cases.
My point isn’t if they do or don’t, but someone has because I’ve seen griefers builds taken down. My point is more along the lines that they can if they choose to. It also isn’t about hooking me up with anything. The truth of the matter is that a lot of players feel at least slightly neglected. If this were another business and you’d paid $60 for a good or service you’d expect more. I worked for a number of years in customer service and the way game companies in general get off when their product fails to meet expectations is a joke. I also have a background in programming and I’m at least a little familiar with how things work.
The moment they decided to give the game away for free they should have offered those of us that paid something. Anything. Instead we got to sit and hope we got lucky enough to log into servers we’d been on for a year because it was inundated with newbs playing for free. I also dedicate much of the time I spend playing helping new players, but I’m not on here asking for some sort of payment or reward for that. I’m simply asking that they do the right thing.
Surely they can check my profile and see how often I play. Surely there are server logs for that since they seem to exist for everything else. As gamers we can’t just be complacent about stuff like this. Not all of us are kids who will just move on to the next thing or come back just to play a few hours on a new DLC. Even they need to be treated fairly because they’re customers just like the restof us here. This is both a product and a service and it’s not like the cost would outweigh the damage control.
If this were by decision and by customer I’d be offering a full refund, because that’s how you earn trust and respect. It also is one of the most effective methods of study advertising and building a loyal customer base.
Thank you for sharing additional information, we’ll register the occurrence for the developers to look into. If possible, please share a screenshot of the exact location of where this issue is taking place.
Regarding the refund of items or materials, we are unable to offer the aforementioned admin support as we do not have the manpower to moderate each of the hundreds of official servers being provided as a free service to players, so no exceptions can be made in any case, apologies for the inconvenience.
We’re also unable to offer any Free DLC in exchange for issue submissions, however, we do reward players that help us discover major exploits through our Exploit Hunters program:
I hear this a lot. Put into context with entertainment value vs cost. Games are by far the best value for money. (Especially CE).
I have paid way more for a cinema visit that lasts an hour, and is often much less satisfying.
Funcom did not offer the game for free. Ps plus is a paid subscription service. Also, it is Sony who decide on the games, and financially compensate the company accordingly. Funcom would be foolish to refuse.
I’d say what we got is rejuvenated servers full of fresh players. I also play on PC and often I am literally the only player on the server for hours.
Also we get new dungeons, weapons, and armor periodically.
Anyway, when you next upgrade, you should take a short recording. You can go to the share play settings to change video clip length. That will probably be the best option to help the devs.
I hope you don’t experience this issue again, I have upgraded around 10 altars since the patch and haven’t lost one. (Always on foundations.)
What we got were a bunch of trolls and kids that built a bunch of garbage builds that clogged up our travel routes. They built right on top of places like New Asgarth and The Summoning Place. Most of them have been run off or given up, but we still have one or two that check in once a week to maintain their decay times. So, instead of dedicated players we got 98% troll. I talk to everyone on the server I playon if they’ll respond. I offer advice and help getting past bosses, but the class of player the giveaway brought in was not what we needed. If we had active server moderators it would bea different story, but in the end we saw it as a challenge. We survived. Fighting against other players even on a PvE server is acceptable. What’s not acceptable is having to fight against the game just to do the most mundane tasks. Especially when you’re told the problem has been fixed and it hasn’t and on top of that you’re told your items cannot be replaced when they could. A dev could jump in, go into the menu spawn the items, and drop them for us. Just tell me when and where to be. If that isn’t an option do something else. Like a free DLC as a show of good faith.
So basically you’re saying since there’s nothing in it for you so there’s nothing you can do for me? I’m not surprised, but I expected more engagement. Here’s an exploit for you… DLC weapons and armor that perform better than freely available content in-game when we were promised that would never happen? What about nerfing boss drops to only 20% after larger clans or players with infinite free time have farmed literally hundreds of items when the drop rate was 100%? What about disabling looting of decayed bases but taking weeks to fix the dupe glitch players are using by knocking servers offline giving them the ability to copy literally vaults full of items?
Seems like you’d do a little more to befriend your genuine community when they have an issue like mine. Again, since you can’t take the time to replace my items and you obviously attempted to answer my complaint by giving me blatantly false information a free DLC is the least you could do.
