Lost Dungeon set

Yes - which still has to be build over the ground level (as terraforming/creating “cellar”/underground structures is not possible - or legal…). It also contains windows, pieces described as “walls” and “ceilings” - which also seem to indicate it’s not meant to be the same dungeon that we build in…well, “Dungeon Keeper” for example - or “Dungeons”…

Tbf, @Marylambs just likes the look, not the cube foundation look. I already have talked to her numerous times about it. She said she COULD make it work with the pieces she asked for, but she’s in agreement that it should have been normal walls, ceilings, etc. She’s not arguing that it’s great, despite how her reply sounded.

Thanks for clarifying - I might’ve indeed got the wrong impression.

In the end, I - probably as most other commenting here - just want to provide feedback to improve, on the gameplay experience - not just bash the devs for the sake of bashing.

Has anyone tested if you can build a complete shell around it? Say, craft a generic 3 high box using wall and ceiling pieces from the Frontier set and have the entire Lost Dungeon set completely hidden inside. Pillars in treasure room in trailer are black ice if anyone is curious

They can call it Lost Dungeon: The Lost Pieces.

I have used the Dungeon set to build a treasure room and under-dungeon to my base. Looks atmospherically gloomy, so I would think a great ‘fit’ for PvE and Roleplayers. It’s T3.

I ‘understand’ the ‘just block-foundational’ pieces. It is meant to be coverable by other pieces (I guess). There are now quite a few demo-builds on the y-tube - go look if you want.

I have found that dropping ceiling tiles over it to be an issue as the dungeon skin partially shows through the ceiling which ain’t easy on the eyes. The set is not a seperate DLC like old DLCs so additional pieces may/may not happen. There are already a lot of released core stuff that matches well. I have already seen examples of builds where the dungeon pieces already released may for very gritty Arcane and Sorcerous builds.

With the projection through the ceiling tiles I an speculating that the intent is for these pieces to be covered in other foundations. Because they are via the Bazaar, they are clearly a niche cosmetic item offering nothing but a look - well, they are just re-skinned foundations with some tweaks.

btw Thank you to the Design team for doing the pieces. I have already seen players on my servers rebuilding their bases to include dungeon levels. Great design. I am sure that, if more pieces are added then they will be bought by the willing.

You’re just about there for why Funcom doesn’t refund Crom coins. In one word, accounting. It’s not that they won’t, it’s that they can’t. I’d be more than happy to explain why in detail, but I suspect most people wouldn’t care for the TLDR.

What I would love to see is these built up slightly with more pieces…it’s a dungeon for God sake so no roofs…but also have a link to the arena set for a separate saleable bundle. That skylight in the dungeon set is truly awesome and I would love to see it in the arena style as well.

Very likely as it makes sense, but just remember that all these new costmetic adds via the Bazaar are aimed at those likely into building and prepared to pay for it - which makes sense (you buy the standard car, but then can expect to pay extra for all the extra bling and diamanté dice for the rear-view mirror)

They could call this first release Lost Dungeon: Lost Opportunity.

Because the pieces are great-looking, and if they were more useable and versatile, I’m sure the set would’ve become a great hit, rather than the punchline of a joke it is now.

That is a very poor customer service response!
Firstly, they say they CANNOT issue a refund… I find that impossible to believe. They WILL not issue one. There’s a big difference.
Secondly, it’s not a physical asset or product. Its not like you took it out of its packaging and the cost of manufacture is now lost if you hand it back!
Sorry for your experience but this is just flat out bad customer service! It makes a new player like myself very reluctant to commit spending when I hear stories like this!

No, they cannot. It’s because of the accounting/bookkeeping involved in how Crom coins are purchased and used. If you’re interested in the details I can explain it, but I think most people will be TLDR.

I was refunded my Crom Coins when the latrine was bugged in the Aquilonian Bathhouse set. It can be done. They just don’t want to do it.

I would certainly be interested, because I don’t see what the allocation of Crom coins has to do with accounting. Nobody’s asking to be given real money, but rather to get Crom coins back.

But maybe make a separate topic for that explanation?

Both @jmk1999 and @everybodyvsME mention they requested refunds earlier in this thread. I took the refund requests, particularly @jmk1999’s mention of not contacting Sony, to mean real money refunds.

Regardless, I’ll type up my thoughts in a new thread.

EDIT: Since @everybodyvsME has at some point been refunded Crom coins, I cannot dispute that it’s possible. I do maintain that Funcom cannot refund for real money though

With a few exceptions, I believe the Arena DLC provides better building options for dungeons than this dungeons set. I’ve used that set to make decent dungeons several times.

The exceptions are: the foundation with windows/frames. the foundation with doors. the foundation with skylight windows/grates. These cannot be directly reproduced, though the windows and doors can be approximated.

If the concepts of those were added to the Arena DLC style, that would be better. add in wedge shaped skylight windows (one tip of the wedge is the grating ) to the thin wedge as well as the wedge foundations… and skylight windows using the thin ceiling tiles…

But i’m likely dreaming wishful dreams.

Yeah. This and the scaffolding need to be greatly improved. The scaffolding is a total unfinished nightmare.

I actually asked for crom coins back… but they didn’t even wanna do that. So, no, I didn’t wanna deal with Sony in particular. I just know that would have been a hassle as well.

[quote="jmk1999, post:158, topic:231711Crom-Coin bundle, bought anything, you will always have an odd number left that will boil down to an amount that cannot buy anything. Like being at an amusement park or casino or online shop that ha s its own currency. Standard gimmick.

At some stage one would think the host company for an in-house currency, would allow the tokens to be ‘cashed in’, but then the tokens become fully monetised leading to a slw of issues - such as trading it based on currency changes, etc (I buy Crom coins for $25, spend a portion and then get a refund on any remainder at a different $-exchange and effectively get more actual $$$ back.

If you like the cosmetic additions then buy them otherwise no.

Last Dungeon basid set is okay, but janky as reported. Takes a lot of space and hard to ‘cover’ with other build items. But it looks nice and is obviously geared to whatever we can be looking forward to later in the AoW series.

Personally, I detest virtual currency and the obfuscation of actual cost associated. I used to enjoy a game that offered cosmetics for RWC. the instant they switched to virtual currency, my wallet closed.

The only set I’ve purchased for Conan from the bizarre (sp intentional) was one that I could determine the exact RWC cost and decided I wanted, though it was more than I was happy to spend. I have all the available DLC sets, so it isn’t that I’ve no interest in the cosmetics.

Regarding this dungeon set, If, and only if, the set was sub divided into individual pieces AND the cost associated directly with a real world currency AND that cost was ‘reasonable’ would I entertain acquiring it. Alternately, if it was a full featured set like the prior DLC and available for RWC…

Again, dreams not likely to be made reality.
