Love the Dark Dregs

I was thrilled with the makeover, if only it would remain so, heh. After completing it, there is this nagging sense that I missed something. I really enjoyed the instance; good job.

Did you managed to complete any fight with the worms?

In my first official attempt, only one worm stayed till the end but it was more interested to turn of the brazier than actually fight me.

In my first single player attempt, worms were phantoms until the last battle that like the official experience in the middle of the fight they disappeared.

Anyway, i am happy others enjoy it, i expected more, but all good i guess.

It takes way too long. There are ways to shorten that time but you got to be observant and clever. I found the standard combat thralls (zerkers, Dalensia, Daicas) do significantly more damage to the slugs that me. There are other easier ways but people should figure those out on their own.

You were saying? Lol, nothing in the game comes even close to defeating me. I don’t mean to brag, simply stating a fact.

You are right, this dungeon forces you to fight with torch-in-hand, sorcery wisp, a weapon that produces light, or light arrows; otherwise, you are screwed. Only way to fight them in complete darkness is by using the targeting function, otherwise you are flailing in the dark. Having the thralls on aggressive and using the wisp of light, I left anything that moved flat and tenderized lol. I am completely corrupted, so I am virtually immortal.

One bug I am gonna report is the Darfari seer’s Mask not working in the instance, I trusted the mask and waltzed right in, and it did not work; that pissed me off. It is a dungeon designed for you to produce light yourself with a torch, or a weapon with the "Light” perk, light arrows, or ultimately the wisp, but yeah, I lit my torch an went back to my pike to get my bearings and went on stabbing as my two intensely groomed Dalinisias completely and utterly demolished everything and anything. Two Hanuman’s Gada with master fittings and the best possible armor helped, a little =P.

P.S. Yes, these two by my side are actually Dalis, =P

This dungeon does finally give a use for the wisp.

Still, this one feels it would be better as a separate dungeon rather than an event that replaces the Dregs.

… And makes the Night-Stalker mask useless. Really wish they would leave it, as you say.

I believe i have understand already especially when you see the slug takes so much dmg from the exploding trap..

I don’t care how much time it takes to be defeated all i asked is to stay on fight till the end and focus on killing me and not the brazier :woman_shrugging:t4:. In this dungeon you have 3 mob fights only, they could be correctly prepared.

My friend, grab Glimmermoon, Forgelight or Jedias Geatsabre, you could perhaps do better in there? Along a strong thrall? Light arrows light up the place well, or use any one-hander and a torch, maybe? The wisp works very well as well; I don’t know if any of this helps you, but it is worth a shot mentioning.

Eating bioluminescent mushrooms does not work, I tried that but I didn’t glow. One hell of a trip, tho =P

Crap, you are talking about something else, sorry, I just noticed a hidden reply so you must be referring to something else someone said. I don’t remember having had aggro issues but that doesn’t mean you didn’t; slugs focused on the brazier rather than you?

Exactly .

Then the 2 final slugs as soon as you kill the thief after some seconds they disappear leaving me in the middle of the fight asking why..

Probably it’s a bug i experience and others don’t, so all good, although there should be no minorities on bugs, but that’s our game .

I am happy nobody else having this experience.

Hey bro, I just went through the dungeon again. The slugs went for the brazier, but they put it out very fast and then turned to you; it’s like they are forcing you to fight in the dark. I had the wisp going and had no trouble at all because I didn’t have to light the fires so, slugs come at you, no sense turning the brazier on; that way the problem is null. Again, I don’t know if this helps but I thought it worth sharing. The last slug flopped soon as I killed the thief.

My only qualm: How in heavens do I get abysmal meat =[

If these slugs doesn’t give you while using cleaver on them, volcano is your only bet. Later on i will send you location.

Thanks a million for the workaround, but it’s again “workaround “.

Devs knew that people will go there with torches, they left 10 chests with sticks and fiber and 10 other torches on the ground for use (your torch automatically light the brazier since your first trigger). Why they programmed slugs this way?

Why they programmed skeletons to attack slugs and not work together?

Why they program slugs to stagger the thief so we can kill him easier?

Why acid makes zero dmg with glutton of punishment?

Do they think that we are incompetent to finish a dungeon with 3 opponents?

I expected more difficulty brother, that’s all

Ps. My qualm is how do i get graceful night now

Brother @Boulderkin in this location with rng of course slugs that give abysmal flesh spawn. But like i told you the spawn is rng, like the attach nacha arrows spider a little bit further.

Good luck with the rng .

But honestly i believe that this is just an event, the dungeon will return.

Ya, they said it was an event, it Shall pass, but thanks so much =D

Normal Dreggs dungeon must return back once the event is over bcos this is the first dungeon one has to do as part of the main quest to remove the bracelet or the game lore. And yes, its weird this new dungeon sharing the same spot of the Dreggs original, technical issues? or they saw it was too complex adding it as a new and separate instance? who knows.

I have to admit that I havent done it yet (sorry ! :slightly_smiling_face: ).. but if all you think its quite easy maybe its intented to be doable also for newbies

Anyway always is good adding new content to the game despite in this case is just one more repeating event.

Long story short, it’s not the difficulty lvl that buzzed me but technical details. If someone want to add insane difficulty in his game ways exist.

An example…

I liked a lot the idea of dark dregs, although i believe that this craft able sword should be agility based and not strength again. Illusion of craft able swords do not solve the humongous difference between craft able and legendary weapons.

But anyway, i do understand what you said @Persefone and i respect it my fellow exile, i never intent to be toxic, all i cared is to provide feedback for progress.

That is the problem, isnt it?

This “renewed” idea is very survival like, and very in tune with the intended theme of the game.

Being new to the game is not an excuse for not having the critical thinking and the exploration and survival game generic ethos.

Cannot excuse being new for having no desire to find out things, walk around not really sure what to do, and seeking a solution.

Problem that made this game dip in quality for a long time was doing things catering to players who do not like survival sandbox game, and therefore defacing the game we, or I at least, wanted to buy, a survival sandbox game, as it is identified.

There are plenty of other games for hand holding, lack of gore, lack of suggestive themes, lack of depth, lack of interesting mechanics, and very “lazy friendly” in which you can play oblivious of basic critical thinking.

They should make things like this new dredge the basis for updating the game back to be what it was meant to be.

I don’t understand what makes the event good. There’s no challenge, you just run through it killing a couple of worms and that’s it. And this is the problem with the game these days, they don’t design proper content for the events and remove all of the challenge from the base game as well. It’s not rewarding in any way to do the events, dungeons or bosses anymore since you won’t get anything unique from them. And if you do it’s like the Dark Dregs, you get everything just by running through it in a few minutes.

It’s an event, judge it as such. This game is as easy or as hard as you want it to be. Choose the higher-level difficulty, set yourself some goals, such as beating it only with cartable weapons. Create a narrative and see it through. That’s what people who love this game do, reinvent it with every run; that is why is called a sandbox

I like the new weapons and armor. If they made an alternative version of every dungeon in the game and rotated them through as events, that would offer more variety than many other games offer in the endgame. But let’s wait and see.
