Make warpaints permanent
…and some function. Doesn’t even need to be a buff honestly. Maybe so you are not attacked by a faction that carries it too…?
That would just mean that I can walk trough a settlement (as a stranger with their ink on) and look for named or plunder their chests…
I think a good idea would be that you can make inks and add a potion to it for a buff like food or regular potions. Just make it a diluted buff as it stays on until killed or is replaced. That way all the inks from the Bazaar would have functionality as well.
if i remember correctly warpaint use to actually give you a buff, but they removed if for what ever reason not sure why… maybe due to lack of use? idk dont quote me on this thougth
Yes - functional warpaints were a part of the game for years. And most players used them regularly. They were removed at some point because the devs chose to remove them, not because players didn’t use them.
The best I can come up with is either they considered it important for balancing PVP (which, of course, it didn’t) or, most likely, trying to nerf players for some re-balancing aspect of PVE. (The reason I suggest that is most likely is because they did it at the same time that they removed multiple other player buffs, such as the ability to have all of the fish buffs active at the same time, and all of the elixir buffs active at the same time.)
I don’t even need them to give bonuses or functions; I just want not having to re-craft and re-apply them to my whole city every 4 hours
Agreed. Make decorative warpaints permanent until character death.
I’d use them, if this was the case. Now? I refuse to refresh a cosmetic every 30ish minutes.
I keep them in my inventory, they don’t weigh much. It’s kind of a pain but… it IS paint. It’s not a tattoo. Plus I wear a different one depending on the color of my outfit. But really it should last until death, with the exception of wearing off in water, if they wanted to be realistic.
Well they USED to have function. Some were just cosmetic, but others had buffs attached to them. I don’t remember why they removed the functionality of them.
I think it had to do with the rework of the attribute system.
Yeah, I think it was around that point. As I said above, I’m pretty sure it happened at the same time as they stopped allowing us to run with all fish buffs or all elixir buffs simultaneaously. It was definitely after the dye bench was added, because I have a memory of crafting warpaints in the dye bench and I wouldn’t have bothered if they weren’t the functional ones.
That could very well be the case. And when it added buffs it made sense that they were not permanent. However, since the buffs were taken away and there is already a solvent to remove the warpaints whenever you want to I really so no reason why they could not make them last as long as they wanted to. There is no reason for them to dissipate so bloody quickly. And personally, I do not even use them. ![]()
Yes it definitely ended at 3.0.
As a PVPer, warpaints were a part of minmaxxing. Clan and I had a chest(s) full of choice warpaints to achieve various builds. It served both the purpose of technical prowess and visual aesthetics.
Now because we are only able to have 1 food, 1 potion and some stamina types, warpaints have become irrelevant for builds.
I agree they should be permanent if there is no intention of serious attribute incorporation. I’m one of those who like to look “cool”. I love the one with the tiger stripes, sort of emulating Valeria.
