Before upgrading my GPU to the 7800xt, my game was running fine on the 6600. I’m unsure if it’s related.
PC Wise - Specs:
5600x
32gb DDR4
7800xt
Yes it’s on an SSD.
I’ve tested on all settings… Low, even low-end laptop.
10/04/2025 it ran perfectly fine in the evening.
09/04 and 11/04, no luck.
It just micro stutters constantly at around the same intervals.
I’ve also disabled audio threading.
I’ve reinstalled the game.
I verified the files before that.
I’m lost and frustrated beyond belief.
Logs don’t provide much insight either.
All graphics card drivers are up to date.
It doesn’t matter if I move or I’m stationary but the stutters impact all FPS caps and make the game unplayable.
I’ve also confirmed all tasks are closed when launching, and even launched in flight mode to remove server interaction.
Also to confirm: This also impacts the title screen.
It’s interesting that it affects the title screen… I was going to ask what you’re running the game at graphics wise.
I have no suggestions but I’m bumping this, hopefully someone would be able to assist.
is your memory full? I mean is there 100GB left until full or so?
I had similar issue with another game once and it was solved by clearing space on the harddrive.
Another source of problems can be Discord.
I had read recently regarding amd’s and micro stuttering in games, see this reddit thread here
and AMD thread here
Hope it helps
So for context with the details so far:
7800XT is the Graphics cyc I appreciate the post but I wish I had that CPU lol. It’s purely in Conan.
Memory Wise? Raudl I’ve got over 300GB left, 3 TB system.
A further update: It works perfectly fine intermittently. For example yesterday it was running good. Now today it’s back to stuttering.
I’m unsure what could even cause it especially in a intermittent way.
Yes I realise this but they also have issues with the micro stuttering that included a 7900 XTX , there was many possibilities as to what is causing this and possible solutions, as amd have different settings in the bios than intel, and different software within windows all of which could be causing this.
Reading through the threads and also looking further the exact cause or causes were never really pinponted and as with all issues on pc’s what works for one does not always work for another despite exactly the same builds, even from the same production line.
I have not used amd for a very long time, and sometimes people post with very little knowledge of pc’s or where to even begin and others have a vast knowledge of a particular subject and can just be looking for tha signpost to assist.
It would be great if you can rule out what it is not, maybe a list of possibilities that can be a signpost for others who come looking for such answers as yourself to assist them with the same or similar issues.
