OK now that we are going to switch gear to mods and a disclaimer.
Disclaimer: I’m a console player and I may be talking out of my behind so please educate me if this is dumb.
So here is the question.
For store and BP items, what is FC’s position of modders using these things in their mods? I assume there is something in place since the DLC’s would have the same issue. Paid content that is IP of FC, what is the policy for modders to use these items in mods they generate?
What Taemin said. It’s been the policy since the first DLC, none of the DLC content is in the dev kit. Not talking about Siptah here, I am aware there are a few Siptah assets. Because those were added intentionally while they rest are not.
Basically, if its in the dev kit, players can do what they want with those assets. If its not, well then its not.
Not that I’m aware of. Not to mention there is no need to. The Dev Kit is easily one of the best out there (arguably the best). Its basically like working on a UE4 project, albeit somewhat limited to the C++ code running behind the scenes (and even then, if your name is Joshtech then you routinely do things no one thought could be done).
And, by chance someone figures it out. (which happens)
Most hosting websites will outright ban it, or not allow content to bypass things like that. (since its illegal just about everywhere. )
Thou, Outside of CE. A Mod that edits the DLC, 99.99% always requires the DLC to be owned.
Which is fine.
(again, All Legit(anyway) Mod hosting websites will remove a mod that bypass the purchase part)
It varies game to game. Some games that don’t have devkits, require extra methods to do replacement and such.
