Momentum-based movement - Feedback thread

“Without us they can’t do anything.”

Without them, you wouldn’t have this game either, so quit acting like you’re entitled to changing THEIR game. They can listen to player feedback and decide that 80% of the player base don’t actually know what they want. Every game will have loud mouths that complain and only end up making the system worse.

Devs, you’re doing good. Keep doing what you’re doing!

how is it a good change? you are the mass minority here. 60% or more do not like this change. The change makes the combat less fluid and less strategic/realistic.

Lies. the majority has said they do not like it, that is not ‘don’t exactly know what they want’. we know EXACTLY what we want. The game in its best form. And funcom did not do this when they idiotically changed the systems…

Lies??
60% of what?
If you say 60% of those that voted then yes, but we don’t really know how big a percentage of the player base is against or for because people rarely drop into a forum just to tell how much they like something, they mostly do it when they have a problem with something, so a forum vote like this doesn’t show the full picture.
Funcom knows that so they have probably analyzed other things like how many people have played compared to other similar big updates, average play time per player etc.

PS. I cannot speak for others, but in my experience it definitely feels more strategic now than ever, and was a needed change.
I can agree that it might need some fine-tuning but other than that it was a good update however poorly communicated.

I watched the stream once while they were doing it then after work again but I did not hear them comment on the crashes on xbox or ps4, the fatal errors for many of us on pc, the fact that thralls are resetting their whole stats on restart or just plain dying, or just puff gone when you log back in. All of this has been reported on forums.

I still see servers for xbox and ps4 saying still not working so kind of wonder when those things might be talked about or how about that if you get 100% on anything every other thrall from that type ends up with only 40%. Are none of these issues as important as the dodge and roll???

So I have a question did I miss them talking about the bugs and how and when they were going to attend to them or did they not comment on any of that, so if I missed it could someone please point me to where in the stream they addressed that part of the forums comments.

I didn’t catch any responses regarding thralls reseting stats on restart (that one is actually new to me as well, will keep an eye out for it).

However, they did mention they were well aware of the xbox and ps4 crashes are were working on them. It was very brief as there probably wasn’t much to say about it other then it was a current active focus they were trying to resolve.

*forgive me as I don’t remember the time in the stream, nor was able to find it right off. Pretty positive they commented on the crashes, however, as I can’t verify, I have to leave it at, I am pretty sure I remember them stating that.

Here is the tread concerning the thralls resetting their stats on restart of game.

I play on console and agree with the majority of people posting. The movement is terrible. The main reason I play this game is for the pvp combat though.

I have standards and expectations. It’s a part of having a healthy ego and self worth.

I actually find it sad that you love this game so much you will, self admittedly, put up with whatever. Why would anyone respect that sentiment? Why would anyone respect a person who lives like that? Is it not pathetic, even if, just in a small way?

but don’t let me stop you from being the nail…I just prefer to be the hammer.

I see where you are going with BUT what exactly is the point you are trying to make? That the people who voted over here and actually care about this change shouldn’t be heard out and their opinion doesn’t matter? Because statistically wise we can argue until we drop dead what stats are right and wrong since how can you really take into a consideration a ‘proper’ ones unless you force everyone to vote when they enter the game.

I am new to the game (kind of) and I have played it before on a friends account so my opinion isn’t so attached to what the game was before however I have been a gamer for a long time and from my experience changing a core mechanic of a game is a huge gamble and more often than not it does not end well because you are realistically changing a product that people have gotten used to  .

Either way from where I am standing I was just about to buy the game with all its dlc’s but after i saw the latests reviews on steam I will put a break on it (since i have 4 days to go until the promo is gone) since honestly I don’t know how the new mechanic works I have no idea how the devs are going to tune the changes and most concerning of all I generally don’t trust developers that decide to Change a core mechanic of a game like that with no heads up with no conversation and with no warning. Tomorrow they can change the crafting stations working only if I am next to them because realism and that kind of a overhaul does not sit well with me because of past bad experiences.

Anyway those are my 2 cents

Jesus Freaking Christ man! I have to admit it was a pleasure reading you dismantling Infectious1X comment by using logic and being calm!(no offense Infectious1X he just did it really well and his comment is making very good use of common sense) Thank you for that it is good to know there are people like that around

The poll shows 60% of the players that voted said they did not like or want those horrid changes.

And some of those are players who came only to show their discomfort with the changes… if you see the steam graphs, votes are still positive, way more than negative… but you will only see what you want to see, don’t you?

I see what is exactly what is happening in this forums. that is what is being talked about here.

Thank you for the compliment.

I appreciate you, and Funcom as a whole, doing what you can to act on feedback. I also understand, as a developer(albeit in a different industry) myself, that hard reverting an idea is usually nowhere near as simple as it may seem from the outside. My only question is, is there any way the legacy roll can return in some capacity? Even if you kept the momentum system as-is, having the roll made movement feel infinitely smoother and really felt essential to this particular game’s take on the Souls-esque combat.

Is that in any way technically feasible? Because in my eyes that would solve most of the problems I have with this new system.

I absolutely loved the Quality of Life improvements Ignasis! They have always been so criminally under appreciated in my eyes. This may sound silly or even a tad bit lame, but I get really excited when start going through all of my resources and seeing which stacks have grown in size. I remember I felt so wealthy looking at my stacks of Coins in my Vault. Then I combined them all and realised I am nowhere near as wealthy as I thought. My Gold Coin stack isnt even a full stack of 1000 now! And then I realise that I have more room for Blood and False Mandrake…!? Here is the punchline. Rather than annoying or bothering me, it makes me so excited to go out and collect new items to re-fill that resources stack…it bcomes like one great big cue to ‘Treasure Hunt’! :gem: :moneybag: :crown:

I would also like to offer a kind word regarding regarding Mounts. I know you all put in such an astronomical amount of work in to bring us this feature, and I cant even begin to tell you how much I appreciate it. You all really went above and beyond here. Thankyou sooo much!! It is now almost like exploring the Map for the first time all over again with a fresh set of eyes. It is so much fun! I just feel like such a badass cruising around the map on my great black steed. I have spent literally hours riding around the Map…not actually going anywhere or doing anything in particular, just enjoying the thrill of it. :racehorse:  It feels like such a huge part of the Conan world came to life and fell right into our laps. Oh and if I may…please dont abandon the possibility of a coconut clapping thrall ‘Mount’ as a timed event for April next year. :joy:
“Diiis-MOUNT!”

the momvent is back but why is the roll the same ? we want the old roll back
