I think that the monsters in the trailer should be in sandstorms. That would be really cool and would give sandstorms a whole new difficulty level instead of just damaging you.

well… I guess if you are in the dessert location to the south-east, during a storm… technically… they are.
(You are aware that those creatures are in the game… right?)
Those sand beasts were originally intended to spawn in sand storms like that. But it was nicked during development. There is still mention of them in the storm in the journal you find when you first spawn in the desert
They took a year and a half to add sound in the sandstorm, having those demon cats moving with it ? Very unlikely to happen sadly.
I remember in the beggining of EA it was a big thing to everyone the rumor of having to be directly in the center of the sandstorm wearing a sandstorm mask and there being a boss or creatures to fight… sadly nothing ever came of it
